There are some apps that I am coming across that force portrait view (incompatible w/revue) for just the setup of the app or just one certain screen making the app unusable. Is there any way to force portrait even in these instances, possibly cutting the top and bottom screen off?

new to GTV just decided to pick up a revue real cheap this weekend to give 3.1 a shot and only had a couple days, seems to have plenty of potential but it does seem very odd that google didnt take this into consideration when developing. and its even odder that they didnt fix their own apps yet ??? its a pain having a android device and not even having a working GMAIL app. i hate having to log in through the browser just to check my mail.

i have tried manually installing some APk's but not all work and most FC immediately or when going into menus and stuff. but hopefully google will do its job and progressively expand the market and hopefully logitech will keep up with the software or open it up to the devs.because like i said their is serious potential if we could get SU

Try sideloading Orientation Control from the market. You can set it to force landscape mode. That was one of the first apps I installed on my Revue.

Thanks for the tip, even though it's an old thread I have apps that I'd like to use that for on my tablet.

You can grab Orientation Control in the play store. It does the trick for "most" apps on my NSZ-GT1.
