XDA is a great site. If you need anything its there. Very smart people. But as far as animations go jaekarr has the best I have seen. So not all the smart ones are on XDA.

Thank you for all your help. And NO not all the smart ones are on xda. If you meant smart a$$ ones ok, they are not nice at all. I would never ask a question there or recomend anyone to go there. They are not the kind of person my Dad raized me to be, anyway thanks a lot

Ment intelligent. Yes some of them can be a smart axx but it's because they get numerous repeat questions. Most of the mods that can be done on your phone probably originated from that site. Don't sweat it. You will figure it out as you go along. Read, read and read some more.

It would depend on what ROM and kernel you are using - most ROMs and kernels use the format of PowerOn.wav in the system/etc folder upon boot. - however if you are using a gingerbread ROM and the kernel is not set up to look there it will not play..
Look in that location and see if there is a file labeled PowerOn.wav.. if so you can (rename it PowerOn.old) do a search of the internet and pull down just about any wav sound and relabel it PowerOn.wav - drop it in the folder and you will be good. I am not aware of time limits.
FYI: Many (almost all) kernels for the Fascinate do NOT play boot sounds.. it has been this way since Froyo.
