Thanks again akellar for prompting me to try this out.
They are flashable in CWM and install the bootanimation.zip file to the system/media folder - this will work with 4.0.2 ROMs and earlier - the 4.0.3&4 ROMs require a different data mount - Specified by download.

I will do some exploring and see if there is an option. I pulled apart Rootzboat and noted that there is no PowerOn.wav or poweron.au.. I am not that familiar with 4.x.
After tearing apart some ROMs I cannot locate where the boot sounds are located.
Do any of these work on 4.0.3 as some things have changed and other bootanimations that worked fine on 4.0.2 will just be black screen on reboot. Thanks
As far as I know these boots should work for 4.0.3.. I do not know what has changed that would cause the effects you are describing other than kernel changes.
Bootanimations are basically just zipped GIFs broken down into separate images.... they will work on any version of android that has bootanimations.... only thing is getting the resolution to fill the whole screen
I am loving all of these different boot animations.
I really liked the boot animation from the Nexus S. It was swirls of 4 colors that made an X. I could of sworn I found it on RootzWiki somewhere... but now I can't find it anywhere. T_T
