Yesterday a friend suggested me to look for an AOKP rom, I downloaded Milestone 2 for my device and I'm loving it so far. Just one problem, I'd like to get rid of that Google Search widget/bar at the top that never goes away. I froze that app because the browser search works just fine for me.

Maybe I don't like having it there because I got too used to the 4.1.2 style of my stock rom, but for that thing is just taking up unnecessary space and makes my other widgets and icons look smaller. Plus it looks a little bugged now that I froze Google Search.

So, any change I can remove that or I'll just have to live with it?

Thanks for your time. :emoji_u1f603:

Edit:

After a reboot the widget vanished, but the space is still not usable. See second screenshot.

Install a third party launcher like nova or apex.
As I said earlier, I was happy with the stock design and I kind of always avoid other home launchers. Never the less it's good to experience different ROMs. I began my adventure just yesterday.

Thanks for your input Marc.
