Hey folks, I'll try to make this short and sweet

Me and KhasMek put our heads together and got a new CM7 build for the CDMA Galaxy tab using the new 2.6.35 gingerbread kernel. Nao moar thangs werk!

Please find below a link to a BETA KANG UNOFFICIAL build of CyanogenMod 7 for your Galaxy Tab! Flash from clockworkmod recovery, and make sure to wipe data. Google apps are *not* packaged along with it. Find them here: http://goo-inside.me...0828-signed.zip . If you would like to view the source code, please visit my github: https://www.github.com/jt1134

ROM will convert your filesystems to ext4 on the initial install.

What works?
RIL / 3g data/hotspot, etc
WiFi
GPS
Camera / Camcorder
sdcard and usb mass storage
video codecs (HQ/LQ youtube, NetFlix, etc)
bluetooth
LEDs
sensors (accelerometer/gyro/compass/light sensors)
moar thangs ???

What doesn't work?
tv-out
moar thangs ??? You tell me!

This build may (or may not) get frequent updates, as myself and my partner in crime (KhasMek) have lives, other devices, and occassional blackouts. As this is an UNOFFICIAL build, DO NOT bug the CyanogenMod crew about it! Post about it here or on your myspace ya weirdo. Enjoy!

http://k.22aaf3.com/...b-KANG-0927.zip - 09/28 ROM

NOTE: This may be the last build from me for a while, as my tablet is currently in a state of disrepair (defective mmc/internal memory chip), so I'm not able to test things or even use my device at all. If I can find a way to get a new/fixed device, things should hopefully pick back up.
add UV/OC (1.4GHz) capabilities to kernel
add Neldar's BLN (backlight notifications - needs BLN Control app from Market)

ok, weird.

I built CM7 last week, EXT4, but getting my ass kicked because I have had to rewrite the source to eliminate all that GSM crap, currently working on cracking the bootloader. Mine boots, runs, just a small kernel issue i am working on though.

RFS build huh?

I used the stock kernel and have not yet added ext4 modules/mounts/conversion yet, so yeah rfs for now, more concerned with hardware functionality than i/o at the moment.

Not sure what you mean about cracking the bootloader as it is already wide open and no changes are needed there at all.

KhasMek and I wrote the device tree from scratch so no gsm stuff to worry about. My patches for Samsung cdma devices were merged with mainline cm a few months ago, so the radio stuff was pretty much already done.

Well JT I sent you a pm but I guess you didn't send anything back yet, so I'll post it right here.

Where is a cwm kernal that has rfs and not ext4?

I could not find one anywhere or instructions on how to convert back. I'd like to test this out and see where your at, but I can't proceed. I use Heimdall btw.

Download the ROM and take the zImage file out of the kernel_update folder and flash it with heimdall. It should have the latest version of cwm.

Ok, just reread your post, sorry. That recovery does no conversion, but does work for rfs. Easiest way to convert back to rfs is to just flash a full odin/heimdall package, like the GB leak.

Or if you're running one of my .32 based voodoo kernels, reboot onto recovery, go to voodoo options and turn both system and voodoo lagfix to disabled, reboot and wait for the the scripts to convert everything back to RFS.

I have been having a very hard time getting this to work. I started with Oldmacnut's Better Than Life ROM with CWM 4.0.1.5(?). I tried flashing and it did nothing... I mean nothing noticeable. So I flashed KhazMek's CM7. THAT gave me CWM 2.5.0.something. Tried flashing the update yet again. It stuck in the update script. How are we supposed to flash this? Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

I'll post a new, separate recovery package later today that should be fully functional for this ROM and all other purposes.

JT, your on a great start to this!

Overclocked at 1.252 I get
2452 in Quadrant-used to get 2000
3137 in Antutu-2d and 3d graphics are slower than gingerbread by about 250 in 2d and 250 in 3d. cpu is up 300
29.2 fps in nenamark-10fps drop there.

I was playing some n64, psx games with my Ps3 controller. Everything runs, but a little graphic errors and lag.

With these apps open; Advanced task killer , adw launcher ex, winamp widget, facy widget, dsp manager. I get 260mb ram free.

LQ videos are good, HQ videos are laggy but work.

Thanks!

Thanks for the feedback! Glad someone enjoys it. Did a new build last night with working haptic feedback, tablet tweaks, and some other stuff. Will try to upload today along with a new recovery.

W00t! Download gingerbread kernel source for the sprint tablet, and it boots just fine :D radio didn't work at first, but that's only a one line fix! Custom kernels to come now as well :D

sigh...looks like sprint tabs use different bootmode options than the vzw tab, and something is SERIOUSLY screwed up in the source that breaks using it from a .git repository, so that's scrapped for now....

Updated the OP tho :)

JT, quick question: that recovery in the OP. TAR file, do I place that in the kernel and recovery spots in heimdall or just recovery?

Only necessary to flash to recovery, though it should work for the kernel also if you're on a gingerbread ROM.
