1. Root your device
2. Install ROM Manager (search the market for it, no need to use the Premium version), and from there install ClockworkMod Recovery
3. Do a Nandroid backup! I'm serious. Backup!
4. WIPE (wipe data/factory reset + wipe cache partition)
5. Download the ROM into your SD Card
6. Install the ROM with the "Install ROM From SD Card" menu option.
7. Optionally install the Google Addon

HOW TO REPORT BUGS OR PROBLEMS?
- Temporary Hard reboots will go automatically into recovery. Without leaving recovery, please dump the "/proc/last_kmsg" file and pastebin it.
- Was it a soft reboot or a "boot loop"? Run "adb logcat" and get send the full output.
- Pastebin links preferred

Please visit the CyanogenMod Wiki for step-by-step installation walkthroughs and tons of other useful information.

The preferred method of installation is via ROM Manager, or you can head over to the CM Forums for manual downloads.

Google Addon: 20110828 Universal (for google talk video, you may also want to try the "newtalk" addon)

Known issues

Hi, ..i want to report that wifi can't connect and don't obtain IP..connect and disconnect
Regards
Hi,

I have few issues with this Cyanogenmod Build for the Optimus Black.

- after rebooting it seems to ask 2 times for the PIN for my SIM
- it doesn't show any up/down activity on the GSM or HSDPA icon
- it seems to hang every ~ 5 minutes and I couldn't yet dump any useful information via recovery because even when I took out the battery, its not booting into recovery at next boot.

I've flashed the Zip and gapps after wiping all user data (which should wipe cache too).

Thanks & Greetings,

dreamind

For WiFi problems, its possible that these are related to not having a correct MAC-Address, because when I've played with the standard and Nova ROM, I've figured out, that the hardware does not have anywhere the real mac of the WiFi card written.

On the standard ROM and on Nova, the MAC is located in "/data/misc/wifi/config". There was for me something like:

cur_etheraddr=xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx
http://pastebin.com/bCf6RhEY

Is it correct? I'm doing this first time :)

Phone hangs. Only remove battery helps.

I can't disable vibration. In Menu -> Cyanogenmod setting I've deleted all the steps in touch settings and restarted phone. And vibration still works.
Hi, I'd like to report simcard module overheating when I'm using the 3G

Excellent, thanks. Problem identified and fixed, SK2 later today.

About vibration (which happens to be the cause of your problem), you can disable it in Settings -> Sound (Disable Haptic Feedback)

No, it's just the lack of DHCP.
You can fix it manually by creating /data/misc/dhcp, or wait for SK2

Install the aLogcat application from Market. I need the radio log for this (In the aLogcat app, open Preferences and choose the "Radio" buffer)
Hi Ricardo, i've just installed your CM7 port and I want to say that it is awsome. Even so, I have 1 problem with one app, with "3G Watchdog" which can't see my trafic data as it doesn't count it. I installed it twice already and it's still a no go. Besides that and the haptic problem wich I've seen you solved it totally rocks, thanks man, keep up the good work.

Network accounting apps usually fail miserably on non-HTC phones, because they assume wifi interfaces are named "eth0" (which isn't the case of the Black, it's "wlan0"), and mobile data interfaces are named "rmnet0" (not the case of the Black, either, it's "vsnet0").
Did that app work in stock?

Thank you very much for your hard working! LG do should be ashamed! Installing...
Yes it did work perfectly in stock and nova as well. I don't know why it isn't working now. It just keeps saying that i've consumed 0 B even if i downloaded 10 apps or so.

Even if I disable feedback in sound phone vibrates.

After installation v2 without wipe everything works like charm (no hangs, no stutering or other errors). WiFi is working fine. Only problem is that I can't disable vibration. Later I will try to make factory reset and reflash v2.
i agree with mgregor. even if vibration is turned off, it continues to vibrates! but its not a big deal for me! thanks for your work man!:)

I can't reproduce this... As soon as I disable haptic, it stays disabled. No screen feedback, and no button feedback either.
After wipe/factory reset/wipe cache/dalvik cache and reflash everything is working fine :) No vibration when disable it in sound menu :)

No FC, no hangs, no stuttering. Awesome! :)

Is there any way to install other governors? InteractiveX in example?

Today I will discharge battery and charge to full by the night and test battery drain problem which someone talk about.
Thanks for your effort, all goes toward good. :grin3: I want to know if anyone has problems with navigation, I left the device to search satellites, and after 25 minutes did not find even one. I tried the GPS FIX, but still nothing. Does anyone have solutions to the problem with GPS? thanks
- Wifi still connecting and disconnecting...may be not connect, but keep in cycle.
- I don't know if this is a bug, but the earphone button doesn't work
- I can't configure accounts to syncronice...google, facebook....

Thanks in advance
Started using this as a daily rom, awesome work man only problem that kinda bugs me is that i cant track my usage through a application from my phone provider.
