Debricking Touchpad 3G/4G? Netchip Mode?

I am trying to debrick a Touchpad 3G/4G device that has no battery life in it. The debricking process aborts once the process looks for the netchip mode. For netchip mode to continue, the debricking process looks for the existence of the following USB device when you use the lsusb command in Ubuntu (or you can look for this on a Mac using the system profiler application):

Bus 003 Device 008: ID 0525:a4aa Netchip Technology, Inc. Linux-USB CDC Composite Gadge (Ethernet and ACM)

The only two USB devices I ever see for my Touchpad is the Google Inc. device (Product ID: 0xd00d; Vendor ID: 0x18d1 (Google Inc.)) and the Qualcomm device that shows up once you press the power+home+volumedown button (which you need to do at the beginning of the debricking process).

But, I cannot see the Netchip device in my USB log for my Touchpad. Does the 3G/4G Touchpad have a Netchip that I can subsequently use to access the device using the ethernet IP address?? Is there another way to connect to the Touchpad to the network?

Which version of Debrick are you using?

NT
v004 is the version of Debrick I am using. At some point after doing something with the "headless" toolbox, the scripts waits for netchip mode. It looks for device ID 0525:a4aa which is not in my USB listing of devices.

I can't promise that this will help, but I seem to remember reading somewhere that v005 might work on a 3/4G tablet. You will find it here:

Maybe someday Mr. Sullins will update this thread on exactly what v005 does and where to find it.

Thanks! Thanks also to JCSullins... I'll give this a try - though I am waiting for another 4G to come in...

It sounds like you are having trouble finding the Netchip device on your Touchpad 3G/4G device during the debricking process. Have you checked if your device even has a Netchip installed? Additionally, have you tried connecting to the network using a different method or device, such as a Wi-Fi or Bluetooth connection? It may be worth exploring other options if you are unable to locate the Netchip device on your Touchpad.
