Hello devs! This one is going to be easy. If you're interested in developing for this phone and would like the chance at a free one to work on, just reply with the following:
  • A link to your favorite kernel, ROM, or theme that you've coded, along with a brief explanation as to why you chose that work to represent you.
  • A short explanation of what you may be planning on working on when you get your new phone
Our site staff will be reviewing the entries and voting for the two most convincing entries. If you've received a device from us in the past nine months, you are not eligible to enter.

Next Monday, May 14, we'll be announcing the winner!

Hi. I would like to use this device to advance my CASUAL project. Http://android-casual.googlecode.com

CASUAL is Cross-platform ADB Scripting Unified Android Loader. It can allow for any number of tweaks and patches to a device via scripts coded in CASUAL language. You can find some of my CASUAL scripts here: http://android-casual.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/GUI/src/SCRIPTS/

I would like to make a few CASUAL scripts for HTC devices. I've never worked with an HTC, however I've done plenty of work with Samsung devices here on RootzWiki.

The other thing I'd like to do is to map out and understand the partition structure of the HTC devices. I would really like to get a better understanding of why in the world they chose to use 60+ partitions for Android when it really only needs 5-8 partitions maximum (in my mind at least). I can do a pretty good writeup on it when finished.

Also, I do not want to keep this device. I will re-contest it here on RootzWiki when I am finished.

In summary, if you pick me you get 3 or more of the following:
1. A one-click CASUAL root method
2. A one-click CASUAL Recovery method
3. Any other ADB tweaks I can come up with
4. A writeup on the partition structures
5. Another contest!

I do not want it but for clarification, does that '9 month rule' apply here?
Just got clarification from TPTB, the nine month rule is in effect. OP edited to reflect that.

Okay, I choose to show these 2 themes, 1 because it is free, here on Rootz, and the other because it is a clear representation of my efforts.

1 - ICS Plates Theme & Icon Pack - For 15+ Different launchers / home app replacements
http://rootzwiki.com...s-may-9th-2012/

2 - ICS PRO All-in-One - For the ENTIRE GO! Suite. [Launcher, Contacts, SMS, Widgets, Locker]
https://play.google....=dcombl.ics.aio

My reasoning for choosing #1 is not for the graphics or icons, I don't do that part.
But for the functionality and compatibility that the theme/icon pack has in comparison to any other type of themes on the market.

My Icon packs work for over 15 launchers. Not like the other guys' that have "ADW / LP" just because they work with each other by default. If you know whats up, you'll know you will a hard time finding anything that comes close. The icon apps by JonFHancock, are the only other app's that offers the same abilities as mine, but his aren't themes, nor would they theme any part of the drawer.

My reasoning for choosing #2, to make a long story short, is because after 6 months in the market, its still a one of a kind. Same scenario as above, if your into GO! themes, you'll know whats up. Im working on new styles all together to fit the AIO format.
------
If I won the One-S , it would allow me to sell my old test-devices [EVO4G & NS4G] and allow me to pay off the collections for the pastdue etf

Using a Tmo-Vibrant for everything I do + daily phone use, is upsetting. The amount of time it takes to test stuff would decrease, and I could properly release unique stuff, faster and give me time to work on Windows Tools I have been working on for the theme-making community to benefit from.

On top of that, it would allow me to actually have phone that I could have as a phone, and not be a device I flash a new rom on every 5 hours because im testing parts of certain things for apps & themes, and that by itself would improve my qualify of life. I really miss my phone being personalized and styled to MY liking, not my 'work for the week', that'd be greeaaat. ::lumberg voice::

If you are into the ICS-AIO, I intended on releasing an ICS-PRO AIO Themed with RootzWiki colors for others to judge, without having to download the ICS-PRO theme from the market, hopefully I will be able to before Monday. Have been working on a major update on a few things.

Thank you RootzWiki for providing your community with awesome incentives like this. If anyone has any questions or needs help, I always am happy to provide friendly advice. Please dont DQ me for making you read for 3 minutes, and the first version of the txt was 3 times as long , but it went into the kind of detail that I put into everything, so msg me if you wanna see what I wrote the first time.

I don't know if RootzWiki is going to prefer US developers for this contest but I will also show my interest for this really nice device.

I already have started to work on a rom for the One S a long time ago. You can find it here: http://rootzwiki.com/topic/20859-romapr-21villes-seriesvirtuous-one-s-v140/

This is one of the other roms I'm working on. This is the direction the One S rom should go too: http://rootzwiki.com/topic/21157-dhdrom26-04-2012virtuous-primadonna-v1170-alpha-2-sense-4a-403/

The plan for future versions will be bringing more tweaks to the rom, a custom kernel and porting the Wifi Calling feature from T-Mobile to the stock rom. And with having the device it will make development really easier and faster.

Liquid AOSP / ICS. I would like to add this to our vendor tree as our ROM is quite a hit and people are starting to port it in less than favorable ways. We prefer not to blind dev on team liquid. I also have a knack for working with HTC devices as seen liquid and my nonsense rom for the htc mecha. Anywho, would be great to see myself/team liquid supporting and developing both aosp and sense on this device :D Additionally, with francisco on the team and working on a kernel for the tegra 3 based One - * series he has also mentioned he plans to support the snapdragon s4 and I could help be his set of "eyes" on that device. Please consider this seriously. Dying to dev on another HTC. <3 -nocoast/team liquid.

I'll sign up for this one.

Currently building AOKP for the Nook Color; and once Samsung fixes their EMMC bug in their ICS kernels, I'll be doing TWRP for the Epic 4G Touch.
Previous work has been the Bionix series on the Vibrant, SGS4G, G2X, and NS.
CWM for the SGS4G, G2X, SK4G.
And Helped with RootzBoat for the VZW Nexus.

(I'll post links later today. Getting ready to get off of work.)

If I win, I plan on making it my 2nd primary device (family plan on tmo) I'll be assisting with AOKP and CM9; which is what I am doing with the Nook; and helping with TWRP development.

This is my favorite, because it's my only theme

http://rootzwiki.com...cream-sandwich/

The reason it is my only one is because I currently own a year old device (Thunderbolt) and the community is pretty dead at this point.
If there were more people wanting it, I'd probably have a ton more themes, etc.

I also have these tools:
http://rootzwiki.com...e-or-data-wipe/
http://rootzwiki.com...-auto-unrooter/
http://rootzwiki.com...ir-ota-updates/

(haven't posted this here yet, will soon) http://www.thunderbo...sh-screens.html

This is unfinished, currently tbolt and kindle fire only: https://github.com/t...-TWRP-installer

This one is discontinued, still useful though: http://www.xoomforum...usher-tool.html

I know the ONE S will have a pretty large community, and I would love to migrate my work to such a great phone.

Thank you guys so much for this contest!
