By removing the dockservice.apk you will break hdmi output as well as the dock/deskclock, and the webtop. I leave some of the libs and jars incase people would like to add on dlna or whatnot easily. Here is what I removed from "my" build. I really have no intention of taking any kind of credit since I am a noob, but this is practice for me really. I managed to shave off ~10MB of the size of nitros FANTASTIC 1.2.
This is what I removed if you are interested. I may upload it if nitro is ok with that. Waiting to get confirmation out of respect for his work![]()
Removed from apps: FM Radio, Dock Service, swype, voicesearch, webtopsession,
Removed from BIN: DLNASRV, FMRADIOSERVICE'
I have no doubt that many of my changes will "break" things for certain users and many people will want some of the shit I removed. Obviously if you have a webtop or DLNA, or use radio or swype. I have absolutely no clue what removing Dock Service breaks, other than nothing I notice in how I PERSONALLY use the phone. If you are not using safestrap, I seriously just suggest using Nitros. I'm not a developer, just a budding rom enthusiast trying to learn.
Cool ill put dock service in my next kang of your awesome releases. How do you feel about me stripping stuff like this? Your releases are amazing. I just tend to strip more stuff because I don't have any accessories at all lol. If you'd rather me keep them to myself I will, but im using these to practice and hopefully try to learn more and more. Id like to learn to do some of the more advanced stuff but its all new.nitroglycerine33 said:By removing the dockservice.apk you will break hdmi output as well as the dock/deskclock, and the webtop. I have been using Eclipse as my daily driver for maybe a month now. I flash everything else that comes out but keep coming back to Eclipse. If cell standby and phone idle is what you think has been killing your battery... you ought to give Eclipse a try. If you look at screen shots of Eclipse battery stats, those that have high cell standby and phone idle are probably not using their phones very much and its possible they are going a couple days on their batteries. I have my phone in my hand all day long in a strong 4g area and I get 12 plus hours on a standard battery and cell standby and phone idle are usually at 4 and 5%. I have two extended batteries that I don't use since I've been running Eclipse.juicy said:eclipse is the only rom I haven't tried yet.. I've used all of the other available rims but I really haven't noticed much different between speed and battery life. I don't run a lot of stuff at one but you guys getting a day off your extended batteries must not use your phone. With brightness down and even light usage, I get 10 hours. With work usage which is like 4 hours of heavy id be lucky to get 5-6 hours. im talking streaming Iheartradio in a spotty 3g area.. I don't understand lol. It seems cell standby is what kills my battery. Damn you 4g

You should trade me one for this leftover thunderbolt extended battery I haveI have been using Eclipse as my daily driver for maybe a month now. That does not sound like a fair trade, but go ahead and pm me your address and I'll send it to you when I get the chance. (And no, I don't want the thunderbolt battery) Call it appreciation for this community.darkrom said:You should trade me one for this leftover thunderbolt extended battery I have![]()
NObody else is experiencing this? Still happening on 2.0. I didn't use a computer all weekend, but I only got like 4 emails to my phone. Log into my computer here at work today, and I had like 40 emails. Is there a setting in GMAIL that got messed up maybe?Ok, maybe I found something else. I have only noticed this happening since I upgraded to Preview2. In my GMAIL, after the mail syncs up, after some time (I have have no idea how long) it will "lose sync" with different messages. Best way I can think of to describe this is if you go and "clear data" and resync, it will sync up identical to your inbox if you view it on a computer. After some time, you will have 100% of your messages on your computer, but some of those messages "go missing" on the phone. If you go and clear data again and sync back up, they reappear.
Anyone else see anything like this? I'm thinking of uninstalling GMAIL and then just d/ling from the Market and see if that helps. Yes, I use TiBU but GMAIL is not one of my apps that gets restored.
Check accounts in the system menus. Make sure it is set to sync that account.dbindock said:NObody else is experiencing this? Still happening on 2.0.
