No change here either at the house, but I'm more concerned about the areas where I lose signal altogether, so I'll be checking that.

On a side note, this is the first time I've flashed a radio/modem...I'm assuming that it doesn't change the build number? So it's OK that my baseband is VRLG7 and build number is still VRALF2?

Ok, so now I've tried all the modems, including stock, and I have no service. What would cause this. I flashed via the latest CWM. Where my signal bar was, I now have an empty triangle with an little "R" next to it...

Menu, settings, about device, status. Scroll down and see if your IMEI is still there or just says zero.

Common problem with the S3 which would have been easier to remedy if you had done a little more research before jumping in head first. But since we're past that head over to XDA, and see the tutorials on how to restore.

As the title of the thread reads, this is just the modems/radios. If you want the whole OTA and are still stock, hit the menu button then go settings -> about device -> software update -> check new. If you're not stock, you will have to ODIN back to stock then do the previous sequence. I have not seen a flashable version of the OTA yet.

Would this modem (vrlg7) be compatible with CM10 nightlies? If so, would I benefit by flashing it (I.e., better signal) or just a bugfix for people with that "no sim" error?

try flashing a different rom just for the heck of it, something like synergy or beans' custom stock
