Full Screen Mod - Remove Navigation Bar
I have the non-developer edition RAZR M, but I have root. I am looking to remove the navigation bar from the bottom of the screen, to ultimately increase screen size. I have done some searching around other forums and other devices where this has been done, and it seems the files to change might be located in the SystemUI.apk. Can anyone confirm this? Also, without having a custom recovery, will it be able to make these changes by simply replacing the files through either root explorer, or adb, rather than needing to create a flashable zip? Any guidance on this mod would be appreciated, and I would love to share something like this with the wonderful rootz community.

There are a few options on there for navigation bar launchers. My favorite is LMT. It is very customizable as far as which icons you can have, and their functionality, but the general idea is that it pops up only when you touch the right edge of your screen. Checkout the picture, but that extra real estate would be nice to have.how would you use your phone???

Since I have the non-developer version, I am not able to boot a custom recovery, or flash through fastboot. Does that mean I will not be able to flash the change once I make the edit? There is a way to do it by adding a line to your build.prop, but can't guarantee anything since I don't have this phone. It works on many others though. Add this line to the bottom of your build.prop qemu.hw.mainkeys=1
Ok, so I have been trying to do this. However, I cannot get the darn thing to recompile! I think I found a work around but need to get my hands on an framework-res.apk from GB (for the M of course).

This does remove the nav bar, but it also causes systemui.apk to FC.There is a way to do it by adding a line to your build.prop, but can't guarantee anything since I don't have this phone. It works on many others though. Add this line to the bottom of your build.prop qemu.hw.mainkeys=1

I tried the full screen app and it worked but it took my notification bar also. I need it. Is there a way with this app to still have it?I use the app full screen and LMT they work great together.

this strangely happened to me after flashing the BDH ROM and then the battery widget from p3droid. I could not figure out how to get back to my home screen. I might be interested to see if will allow my scrabble app to work, otherwise, I don't need it. thanks for anyone that can provide additional insight.
