Verizon sent me a replacement phone and I wanted to put the stock ROM back however the reason why I got the replacement was because my USB/power connector stopped responding. Is there any way of accomplishing what I need done to get it back to stock? I can still download the files onto the phone via WiFi - I can't run any of those commands.

Look up using adb over tcpip. There are apps on the market that can switch adb on the phone from USB to TCP, and then you should be able to execute the commands normally. Maybe someone can confirm, but I think this should work. Not sure if you can execute them through a terminal emulator on the phone itself.

Either way, make sure you check and double check the md5's before flashing anything.

Please be aware, this involves overwriting your bootloader, and carries risks. Please follow this completely. You have no warranty already, since your have rooted. If your phone breaks, your fault, not mine.

If you can not follow directions, don't use this guide.

Step 1, read the whole guide. Step 2, use the guide.

First, you need the original FROYO firmware.

PG32IMG_RUU_Vivo_W_VERIZON_WWE_1.34.605.4_Radio_0. 99.01.0225_2_NV_VZW1.92_release_182876_signed.zip
http://www.multiupload.com/73VYN7C9J0
30cb90e5c7c5f5ecb8a618fbbbdea06d (verify this md5sum, its important)

Rename this file as PG32IMG.zip, place it on your sdcard. Run this command:

Code:
adb reboot bootloader
You will be at the fastboot menu of the bootloader, choose the "bootloader" option and allow the zip to flash. If it doesn't start after a couple minutes, then you have the path or filename wrong (stop using windows, it sucks).

DANGER: Make sure you are restored to froyo using the above RUU, or your phone could be bricked with the next step.

Now, replacing the bootloader.

AlpharevX's modified bootloader prevents downgrades, normally this is a good thing, but in our case we want to downgrade it back to stock. Do not continue with this unless you have flashed back the stock froyo RUU above. Doing so will leave you with a security warning, not something you want.

This contains psneuter (thanks scotty2!), busybox and our stock hboot.

Then push them to your phone and chmod them like this

Code:
<br />
adb push psneuter /data/local/<br />
adb push busybox /data/local/<br />
adb push hboot_0.97.0000_336906.nb0 /data/local/<br />
adb shell chmod 777 /data/local/psneuter<br />
adb shell chmod 777 /data/local/busybox<br />
Gain temp root

Code:
adb shell /data/local/psneuter
Verify the md5sum of the new hboot

Code:
adb shell /data/local/busybox md5sum /data/local/hboot_0.97.0000_336906.nb0
Verify the output is affe3dc9abe9d3a8c8bb3ba0ee5176ac, if not STOP and download thepackage and repush them.

DANGER If this is done wrong you can brick your phone at this point.

Code:
adb shell dd if=/data/local/hboot_0.97.0000_336906.nb0 of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p18
Give the hboot one last check

Code:
adb shell /data/local/busybox md5sum /dev/block/mmcblk0p18
If the output is affe3dc9abe9d3a8c8bb3ba0ee5176ac, then you are done, all is good and you are done.

If the output is 188d033de9436bc35b5605cb8e0e8ead, you still have the alpharevx bootloader, start over.

If the output is something else, then STOP and find me on irc ( http://chat.andirc.net:9090/?channels=#inc2root ) DO NOT REBOOT.

The code is right there:

In ADB, the following commands will copy the three files to the phone (make sure the three files are in the same directory from which you're running ADB):

adb push psneuter /data/local/
adb push busybox /data/local/
adb push hboot_0.97.0000_336906.nb0 /data/local/

These two commands set permissions on the two executable files:

adb shell chmod 777 /data/local/psneuter
adb shell chmod 777 /data/local/busybox

And this executes psneuter to gain root:

adb shell /data/local/psneuter

I assume this also works for those of us that used Revolutionary, since it seems like it's the same process bundled in a different package. Please correct me if this is not the case. Thanks.

I used Revolutionary as well and was also wondering if this procedure is safe and will work for those that used that tool to achieve s-off

Anyone confirmed this working?
I have confirmed this to work with AlphaRevX. With Revolutionary you will have a different checksum so you will need to get that MD5 before doing this (for verification).

I used XTC Clip to s-off... Then, I did a noob move and ran the revolutionary to s-off..
I want to get back to the 0.97 stock hboot..
Can I just do the following steps?

Download vivowpackage.zip

Then push them to your phone and chmod them like this

adb push busybox /data/local/
adb push hboot_0.97.0000_336906.nb0 /data/local/
adb shell chmod 777 /data/local/psneuter
adb shell chmod 777 /data/local/busybox

Gain temp root

Code:

adb shell /data/local/psneuter

Verify the md5sum of the new hboot

Code:

adb shell /data/local/busybox md5sum /data/local/hboot_0.97.0000_336906.nb0

Verify the output is affe3dc9abe9d3a8c8bb3ba0ee5176ac, if not STOP and download thepackage and repush them.

Let me know... THANKS!
