*UPDATED SEE BOTTOM OF OP*

I believe Verizon has told HTC to no longer support our device. I've written 5 emails to HTC requesting information & have received the typical non answer of:

"...Currently, our developers have to work with Verizon to determine when and if a ROM upgrade will be available....."

Basically I assume this is how it went down:
HTC: Hey Verizon! We have a gingerbread update that needs testing on the ADR6300(Dinc).
Verizon: If they want gingerbread tell them to sign a new contract & get an ADR6350(Dinc2).

I encourage all of Dinc owners to email HTC & inform them that they cannot be sued by Apple for emulating their support system & ignoring the carriers request for bad support for more sales. We have little chance of changing Verizon's mind but HTC is our hardware manufacturer & they could continue to support us on their website via RUU.

Please feel free to take 5 minutes to politely spam their inbox with your displeasure, questions, or concerns here:

For the negative Nancy's out there this very tactic worked for the Desire community. They were the squeaky wheel & guess what? They got grease on the way. Being vocal is the only reason they are now getting gingerbread. So save your disparaging comments on what does & does not work for your low self-esteem girlfriend.

For the inevitable "rootz & u no need OTAz!!!"; yes you do. Very little is made from scratch by the development community for this very reason. Things like kernel source are of the utmost importance & drivers for various hardware are closed source. Which means if you reverse engineer it; you can be sued. If you modify it; you can be sued.

Basically the longer we receive official support the longer we'll continue to see great unofficial support from devs.
Thanks for reading you smartie!

Well...that blows.

Even though I upgraded to the TB, I still play with the Development on the DInc, and would be bummed if the support for it stopped.

Even though I sucks, I knew it was inevitable. Verizon is no good with following through with updates it seems.

This is strange since the gingerbread leak is already out there and thus we know HTC is or has completed it. No chance they so that without Verizon saying they will update.

As for root. HTC will no longer be locking bootloaders and will have a page set up helping unlock those that were locked.

All in all. Verizon and HTC look to be supporting the incredible even 4 months after EOL.

^I dunno. Look at the desire. The GB update was released on their website instead of OTA which is fine with me. I updated the op with jcase's tweets saying he expected an OTA or another leak for Dinc soon.

As far as the bootloader thing goes; screw that & HTC can go **** themselves for bullshitting. I'm not giving up a 1 year warranty on hardware defects.

Thats great news! If you don't mind me asking poontab, what would be the advantage to rooting my Dinc handset now? Aside from wifi hotspot for free :O

I am new to rooting and wanted mainly because of verizon never giving a solid date for the release of gingerbread >_< and now that they are offering it. Do you think it'll be better than the rom's developers are pushing out in this community?

^Depends on what your level of interest is in all this tinkering. If you're just wanting GB rumor has it it might start rolling out slowly as soon as tomorrow. On the other hand all the current root methods probably won't work on this new update.
I might be the worst person to ask about a stock ROM as it's the ROM I've run the least. *edit because IMO the ROM developers put out a more complete & polished product.

Anyone with the OTA yet?
The few people I know don't want to part with the RUU until it's finished rolling out (don't ask). If you have the RUU or the OTA dump hit me with a DM so I can go ahead & repurpose the radio for hboot & test it pwease.
