Oh, and the Home button doesn't seem to work. :-(
Default alps like quickbook? I'm not sure if you are refering to bloatware I don't remember deleting or something you downloaded via Market... So I'm going to try and address both. After upgrade are we going to loose default Alps like quickbook?
actually I meant QuickOffice app came with the phone, please share you feedback post upgrade.Works for me, alot of reading I've done people say it works after a reboot, or if that doesn't fix it, run oneclick one more time and that generally does it.

This one-click wipes everything, including your sdcard(at least onboard, i didn't have one connected to find out if it nuked physical ones too). It will reset and restore the device to match how it would have been given to you had AT&T flashed it themselves and handed you the device seconds later.
So any apps you downloaded from the market, gone, your accounts, gone, and any bloatware they had on the original(2.3.5) rom... Well I wish it was gone, but as far as I can tell they reflashed the same crappy bloatware apps from Gingerbread so the OLD bloatware will be gone(because everything will be gone), but it'll be reloaded automatically for you with this one-click!
I'm hoping that was helpful?
I'm using the Skyrocket ICS port for T-Mobile's S2 and I used this CWM superuser zip file. Some say you have to flash it several times in a row, but as long as you don't see the red triangle after flashing it should work. You just have to reboot each time to find out.New to Android for the most part so hang in there with the new guy questions on rooting. I have ICS running now but I am not sure of the most efficient process to root ICS and not sure how to go about rooting and not incrementing the counter. Any pointers?
Is this necessary before or after the use One-Click? I am total newb to this stuff. I was able to use one click and get ICS installed. Apps work hit and miss, but everything else seems to work fine. The oneclick odin for ICS is pure stock.
On the original 2.3.5 stock rom, you could root with a zergrush exploit, then load rom manager and install the T-Mo SGS2 CWM.
With ICS, I couldn't seem to get zergrush[or any other exploit i had last night] to work again.
To root without flagging the flashcounter(Source1,Source2):Edit: The reason I've been reading that this doesn't increase the flash counter is that we aren't using Odin to reflash the kernel space with a non-samsung official file. My safety rule of thumb on my Skyrocket is always use CWM if possible, and if I have to Odin I'm only using stock flashes or purely doing a CWM/recovery flash.
- Flash CWM with Odin
- (Put device in download mode, click the PDA button and select the .tar file that is CWM, make sure repartition IS NOT checked)
- Using CWM, flash Superuser-3.0.7-efghi-signed.zip
Download these two files and put them on your SD Card.Hey guys upgraded my glaxy 2 driod phone to 4.0 but lost the ductionary so no corrections when typing emails and text messages. Can anyone help with a fix?
Thanks
Bill
Assuming you're using a windows pc, when you connect the phone windows won't display files from the root of the device, only its storage contents. Use a file explorer app such as Root Explorer(paid) or ES File Explorer(free) to move the files. I prefer Root Explorer. When prompted grant root privileges and be sure to set > system as RW (it defaults to RO-read only). Another way is to use ADB and push them to the system by typing the following from command prompt:Downloaded the files and I connected my andriod to computer and launched the usb storage utility. I don't see a /system/app folder. What might I be doing wrong? Do I need to go into the device another way to see the system folder. I also noticed any music I do download is going to internal storage and not being stored on the flash card.
Thanks for your help appreciate it.
