As they say, all good things must come to an end, and even fan favorites must some times succumb to the call of the reaper. If you were waiting until the very last minute to pick up the Motorola Droid Maxx Developer Edition for use on the big red V, that minute has now passed. Motorola has decided to put the old horse out to pasture and removed it from their shop. If you were lucky enough to have picked one of these up, then you know that not only did it have a battery that could last right around a week and a half (figuratively speaking, of course), but it came with a bona-fide unlockable bootloader - something that many of us place highly on our list of desirable features for our devices.

While it may have been a bit on the spendy side with a price right at the $650 high-water mark, if you want to get one now you'll have to look into the secondary market. The Motorola Droid Maxx (dev ed) has died! Long live the Motorola Droid Maxx (dev ed)!
