I posted this problem in another thread on RW. It stated:

[background=rgb(245, 245, 245)]When I flash the new ROM, my nav bar home button becomes inop. Back and "history" fine. I have tried to make sure the settings are correct in the navbar section.[/background]
[background=rgb(245, 245, 245)] don't dirty flash. Factory wipe -> cache partition -> wide dalvik -> flash ROM. I also make sure it is a toro ROM. [/background]
[background=rgb(245, 245, 245)]It will only happen between the two ROMs and not a same developer update Even if I then go back (Carbon->liquid->carbon) it still happens.[/background]
[background=rgb(245, 245, 245)]The only way to clear the problem is to totally reset with Wug's toolkit. [/background]
[background=rgb(245, 245, 245)]Ideas? Thanks in advance.[/background]

Now, I got back and was on release 1.6 and doing nightlies until 1.7 hit. I flashed that ROM and things went down hill from there. I should probably mention I use Trinity TNP1344-384-JB4.2.2-Stable1. Well my toro got real laggy and kinda pissy about doing anything.

Wipe the three I know about (factory reset, cache and dalvik) and tried to revert to 1.6 and now I'm all sorts of jacked up. In addition to my home button being inop, I have the tactile feel of it being pressed but no action. The phone now has no internet connection. Both WiFi and 4g icons are white with no connection. I can call out but no incoming.

Tried going all the way back to release 1.0 still no luck with any of it. .

Unroot -> flash stock -> lock bootloader. Unlock -> reroot. At this point everything is working as it should. Home button, WiFi and 4g.

Reboot into recovery -> factory reset -> wipe cache -> wipe dalvik -> format system -> flash 1.6 -> no home, WiFi or 4g. I can't even find a way to log back into my gmail. I did log in after the reroot so I could turn on adb.

It seems like to keep everything running, I need to be running the VZW ROM with or without root.

Any help would be great especially how to get back on Carbon.

Thanks in advance

Usually if the home button is not working, it means that you did not flash Gapps 20130301. So do a full wipe, wipe system, factory reset, wipe cache and dalvik, flash carbon 1.7 flash gapps 20130301 and see if that works.
