Not sure if this is a "mod" but if you're like me and own a pogo dock you were probably upset by how the daydream feature crippled the clock while docked. Well I might be exaggerating but you get the point. Here is the difference if you don't know what I'm talking about:

Stock 4.2.2 clock:
kind of lame right?

Here is my favorite clock version from 4.1:

Your live background will continue in the background.

Now one of the features I liked about this clock was being able to long tap to put it in a much dimmer, night mode:

Also notice the convenient set alarm button.

But wait! There's more:
Swiping brings the stopwatch and timer

So there's the difference, and here is how to easily install.

Using a root explorer app go to system/app and rename deskclockgoogle.apk to deskclockgoogle.apk.bak or what ever your preffered backup method is. Do the same for the odex file.

Then drop in your favorite clock file or download mine from here and reboot.

I am on a stock 4.2.2 google/verizon image with root.

Thanks for this. Only (minor) bug I've found with this mod is that also removes the clock option under the Daydream settings ...but since I use the ClockPlus Daydream app already, it doesn't really matter. Thanks again though, best clock IMO as well.
