Through a terminal you need fastboot for the easiest route.

Code:
b16s-MacBook-Pro:platform-tools b16$ fastboot flash recovery /path/to/jcase'/recovery/recovery.img
How about PC ? , i have an iMac but i normally use ADB on my PC or can i rename it :- recovery.zip and flash in recovery ? .

Jcase it couldve been been a bad backup, but my backup of CM7 RC 0.6 will not restore. It clears all the restore text about half way through and goes back to the recovery screen as if nothing happened. Rebooted the phone and it sat at the HTC screen for 20 minutes. I took this backup using rom manager but i had this patched recovery installed

I had no problem making a backup, then restoring it with this recovery. However I did not use rom manager.

Rom Manager is probably at fault here, thanks for the info, I'll use recovery from now on.

Have to ask.... Doesn't QuickBoot from the market do the same thing? It takes me to bootloader

DX does not have a real recovery, and no this recovery is compiled just for thunderbolt.

Quickboot is an app, it does not work while in recovery.

I got it installed by renaming it recovery.img then in terminal app type:

su
flash_image recovery /sdcard/"location"/recovery.img
reboot recovery

Takes out using adb.
Worked perfectly!
