Has anyone attempted the XT1080M (aka) Droid Maxx.?

I have two, same results, no splash screen during boot, reconfirmed root, booted into recovery (Andy on back, red triangle coming out) then installed SafeStrap, then normal shutoff, and power back on..

What am I missing please..?

I second that, two devices XT1080M's here, in stock slot, no BlueTooth, WiFi went away, returned after a reboot, both devices, Restore to slot 1 failed, both devices, get the bitmap screens, both devices, on one device, when choosing ROM slot size, available storage size is not accurate..

No big deal thow, for first edition, (Awesome) HashCode..Thank you for the beloved SafeStrap..in time, we are confident all the "bugs" will be eradicated..WooHoo..thank you HC..

I havent created a rom slot yet I will do so and get back to you. Also in regards to my last post when booting into SS and getting this screen

E:Missing bitmap background-nonsafe
(code -1)
E:Missing bitmap background-safe
(code -1)
E:Missing bitmap background-blank
(code -1)
E:Missing bitmap background-reboot
(code -1)

I don't get the above when I re-boot into recovery for R/W only when I do a normal boot up with R/W protection enabled hope this helps.
YEP, Same here, I don't get the above (bitmap screen) when I re-boot into recovery for R/W only when I do a normal boot up with R/W protection enabled, both my device do the same..

Why are my SafeStrap back up restores failing on both my devices..Backup of stock slot, create slot-1, name the slot, restore to that slot-1, SS says in Red..FAILED..then SS ask's, "No OS installed" Are You Sure" you want to boot..I boot to that (slot-1) anyway, But that slot boots to a completely stock, out of the box OS..both devices do the same..What am I overlooking, I assume there has been successful restores, but how are they being obtained successfully.?.is possible because I'm renaming the slot-1.? any ideas would be appreciated..

Yes..Exactly..restore a backup of stock slot, to a created slot-1, SafeStrap goes thru the restore process, even the screen saver comes on during the restore, SS displays "Failed" in red letters, and presents "No OS" installed.. BUT I boot to slot-1 anyway..boots fine, and I have a (out of the box OS) on slot-1..

Working backup, Slot-1, on both my devices, (2) of same device..details > created a backup of stock slot, choosing Data, Cache, System, included with backup..created a Slot-1 of 3gb, give Slot-1 a custom name, restored backup of stock slot to Slot-1, screen saver and slide to unlock function works, when backup is complete, SS displays (in red) Failed, also displays (No OS installed) Boot Anyway, Chose Boot Anyway, SS displays the Safe Side (green) splash screen, boot procedure normal, WiFi and BlueTooth functions properly..both devices..no encryption, both devices.. Before..I had backups without Cache chosen, and device would boot into a "out of the box" OS..Why do I continue to receive the "Failed" backup.? But the backup works perfectly.?

This seems (relatively) fool proof...been flashing since OG Droid days. I feel like this is stable enough I won't run into a situation where I will lose all of my data. (Backing it up to a PC can be lengthy.) Who says I take the dive?
Backup first, always.. :)

I installed Safestrap for the first time tonight on my Maxx. Running ver. 3.63. The install went fine, I backed up the stock rom, created a slot and tried to restore the backup to that slot and got the "restore failed" message. There were posts earlier in this thread from people having this issue, but I din't see a solution anywhere. Am I missing something?
Usually with my experience, with both my devices, if you receive a "failed" restore in red, go ahead and boot to that slot anyway..and you should be fine..

Another way I have found..if you have a slot created..delete that slot, create another, either slot-1 or slot-2, doesn't matter, then wipe the slot, all four choices, that including system, restore your backup to that slot, after restore is complete, then choose the "Turn Off" device..Not "Reboot" choice, let your device turn off..then boot normally..my experience has been also, many times, if choose the "Reboot" function, then the device will reboot, and display the "bmp" screen, then it will reboot, and start a boot loop..then I would have to do a Fast Boot HTML restore and start all over..Now..I always turn off my devices, then boot normally thru the SafeStrap safe (green) splash screen, or chose to boot into SafeStap recovery..BUT..since I always turn the devices all the way off..haven't had to FastBoot HTML restore again..

I hope this helps..no idea why that works..but it does..seems to me..if I give the device the choice of boot to recovery, and I get the double reboot, with the "bmp" screen..that's when both my devices go into a boot loop..just my opinion thow..
