I always wipe cache/dalvik cache when flashing a new ROM. No need to wipe data.

Do a backup of your current setup first!

I just booted up on Alpha 3, so far, so good.

If my TP currently has 15GB of free space, should I delete some of my files before backing it up in CW to avoid running out of space?

Never mind. Backup was completed and I finished flashing new a3 zip.
BTW, how do I know if mine's running A3?

I feel so dumb now. I forgot to look at the Mod Version, which says I'm on CyanogenMod-7.1.0-tenderloin-alpha3

Nandroid backups should take between 800 MB and 1GB, depending on your setup. You can delete old ones using the file browser app, they are in clockworkmod/backup

Installed, everything was smooth and update is great. Side question, when i was trying to nandroid, it would fail saying could not copy
/boot/ It has nothing to do with the update, I was just wondering if anyone had ever seen this before?

Never seen that error message in clockwork...You should boot into recovery and try to make a backup again to see if the problem is still there...is your SD card really full?

Update package won't flash via cwr.... Keeps hotbooting the touchpad... Now cm7 won't boot

Restore your backup, if you made one as recommended.

Then Either check the md5 on the zip, or just download it again, and before you flash wipe cache/dalvik cache.

If you don't have a backup, boot into recovery and wipe caches and try the flash again.

First off, obligatory great work guys

I've wiped both caches and successfully upgraded to Alpha3. The issue I'm having is in the Android Market. Once I install an app and try clicking the back button, I get the following error: process com.android.vending has stopped unexpectedly. I'm not sure if there's a different version of the android market app that I need to install or perhaps reinstall it? :/ Thanks to anyone with some insight! Loving this so far

Hey everyone

First time posting here and just wanted to ask a quick (and probably stupid) question. I installed alpha 2 a short while after it came back so I haven't had to update anything as of yet. When I update to alpha 3, will it remove the files that installed with gapps?

I can't reboot from webos into android. Not sure why. I go to device info, reset options, restart and it boots back into webos. Am I missing something?

Yes. Ive booted from android to webos to android again. I've been using webos lately and saw alpha 3 was out so i was gonna flash it but can't get back into android :/

If moboot isn't showing up, try reinstalling it...

Make a nandroid backup first, so you can revert if you want/need to...

Hmmmmmm.... Looks like I am going to take my wait a while before jumping in approach again. It frankly makes me a little nervous to see as many reports of people having problems with a3 that were doing OK on a2. i can tell that some of these issues are self-made, but others look like experienced, knowledgeable users having issues that are disconcerting.

For instance, you still having SOD issues Redflea?

Not since the one I had shortly after upgrading, it's been ok since then.

WebOS Doctor does not fix Android problems. Make a backup of one of your TP's that is working correctly and copy over to the TP that is misbehaving. Do a factory reset, wipe both caches. Restore that backup and see what happens. With any luck all will be fixed. Good luck. Be sure to post your results.

Agree, worth a try, only add that a factory reset/cache wipe isn't required if you restore a nandroid backup....the nandroid replaces all of that.
