So assuming HP has turned over the kernel for 2.3 on the TouchPad (i think it was 2.3), would this get an update. I know it is kind of pointless with ICS out and all BUT I know CyanogenMod team will have to test that kernel on 2.3 first to get stuff working and then port it over to ICS.

Just curious!

Nope.. this build is deader than a doornail. While they may test internally on older builds, you should never expect to see another 2.x build for the tp..

Hey people...

I'm having problems with wi-fi on my Touchpad. When I'm on my laptop the internet is working fine, but when I'm on the Touchpad it often randomly disconnects.
I've already tried wiping the wifi but that didn't really help.
Any suggestions???
Yep. Check your router settings. Make sure the wireless channel is set to something like 9 or 6. But not on the default 11. Its probably bumping into other wireless router signals in your area. It is what corrected my problem anyway.

Ok, noob here. I just got my TouchPad yesterday second hand. Previous owner already put CM7 on it for me. I would have done that first anyway. But... Can't seem to figure out exactly what build I am running. I think it is 3.0. Is that correct based on my info below?

moboot 0.3.5
CWM-based Recovery v5.0.2.6
Android Version: 2.3.7
Kernel Version: 2.6.35-palm-tenderloin [email protected] #37
Mod version
CyanogenMod-7. 1.0-tenderloin-alpha3
Build number: GRJ23

Runs great with this build, but want 3.5 if I don't have it already.

Or, upgrade to CM9. I know there are still a few bugs in 0.6, but is there anything really broken in CM9 that is not also broken in CM7?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Id update to CM9. This build is dead, and there really aren't any new bugs except software (yes, software, not hw) acceleration which means no netflix or HD youtube, but otherwise the build is far better on Cm9.

The great thing about having dual boot is I run cm9 and if I need to play a video just boot into webos. I really like the video player I have for that better than anything for android anyway.

Can anyone tell me where the system files for android are stored? I messed up my build.prop and need to edit it. I've gotten terminal access using Novaterm to the touchpad, but I can't find the /system folder anywhere. there might be an unmounted partition (since I booted into WebOS to get terminal access), but i can't confirm this as there is no fdisk command. Can anyone please advise what I need to mount?

The reason I think CM android files are on an unmounted partition is because I did a find | grep "build.prop" and I only showed 2 files in the /media/internal mount, which is actually the backup file I copied. Just to be sure, I did cat the file and it does not have the changes so I know it's not the original. Please help!

Had very successful first install of CM7 2.1 version. Wifi tether worked perfectly and gps connections as well via bluetooth. Very happy!

Thought I would try 3.5 and have had same experience as others with tethering so I am shifting back to 2.1. I backed up and am now restoring. Hopefully, back in business in a few. Using LG Slider with Virgin Mobile.

If I can finf the 3.5 tether fix I will try again, but 2.1 seems great for my needs.

Thanks CyanogenMod for excellent work! Donation on its way.

I have been running 3.5 for a while now and it works quite well. I've been watching the "goo" site for another drop but have not seen one. First time i've checked the comments in a while and see references to CM9. What is the deal? Where do i get it?

Check out the breadcrumb navigation at the top. The last link "Cyanogenmod" is clickable. There you'll see 3 topic listings: this thread, the first thread, and the one for cm9
