Ladies and gentlemen I am glad to bring you the first ever gingerbread beta of Evervolv for the Evo 4G! First thing I would like to say is that this rom would not be possible without the CyanogenMod team. I am merely here to bring you how I like my phone setup and give you more options over a base build of the gingerbread genre. My qualifications are inferior to what is required on some of the fixes that were made. Thus I rely on the CyanogenMod Team for their expertise in these fields.

With this being said I'd like to introduce the Evervolv team (the guys who make this rom happen).

  • Preludedrew (developer, Evo, Droid Incredible, Hero CDMA, Evo Shift 4g, N1)
  • mwielgosz (HTC Aria, HTC Evo 4G, HTC Evo 3D maintainer; Java development)
  • Cocide (linux, overall scripting, Evo support)
  • Milesje (java/android & overall, Evo support)
  • Adhvanit (Overall graphics & theme design, Droid Incredible support)
  • Deck (Evo & MT4G)
  • TypoKnig (file mirror)
  • RyteSyde (wallpapers & graphics)
  • Exxodium (wiki/wallpapers, Evo Shift 4g support)

This is where i would like to thank all of the donaters to the Evervolv project. Any and all donations are not used for personal use. I have and will only use them for further development. (i.e. Droid incredible, Evo Shift 4G, java and android books). I will be compiling this list and updating it constantly. If you do decide to donate for the furthering of the evervolv project, please leave me your xda ID in the message so I can give you recognition on here.

Download from evervolv.com (2.3.4)
Latest Nightly (2.3.5)
Download Google Apps from the above link
Make sure to do a full wipe, even if you're coming from an older build, just to make sure.

Man, nobody has commented yet. Need to devirginize this thread!

Downloading right now... worried that the CM base will carry the phone wakelock contagion, but my temptation to try another AOSP rom overshadows it. :)

Edit: Gave it a try, quick review:

Pluses
- Seems quicker than most AOSP roms I've tried
- Interesting theme and take on notification bar
- Wifi connects VERY quickly
- All normal stuff seems to work fine

Minuses
- Notification bar toggles don't work ... at all
- Themer doesn't affect signal bars or battery
- GAPPS does not include Voice Search

I realize its in beta, so hopefully the bugs will be tackled by stable release, but overall pretty good. I'd definitely take it over CM7 (which, despite its status as a pioneer, is moving farther and farther from stability in exchange for adding new features ... Ubuntu-esque?), and while I'm not huge on the style of the font/icons, I can see how a lot of people would dig the cool factor. That said, there are other AOSP roms that, at this stage, are more stable and fully featured.

I'm heading back to OMFGB, but I shall keep tabs on future development. Best of luck!

The gapps thing was my fault. I had uploaded the latest CM7 universal gapps to use for the Eris ROM which is stripped down compared to some other gapps packages. It ended up being set it as the current version on some of the others as well but is fixed now. And just for future reference, you can get VoiceSearch from the market or you could also use the omfgb gapps if you prefer.

The notification toggles are just there to look pretty for the time being as the functionality wasn't completed/included in the build :smile3:. I'm glad you tried it out and thanks for the feedback. Hope you'll give it another in the future.

Hey whats up Prelude... Nice rom as always but can we get some more options on lockscreens and such. Also I know there is 4g icon bug which I seem to suffer from with your rom and a couple others. any fix coming soon on 2.3.5 for this

For aosp roms you flash the rom and gapps. Both are in the OP links. Flashing radio, wimax, price, and NV are optional. The rom comes packaged with a kernel although you are free to flash one of your choice.

You will need to wipe system, data, cache, and dalvik before flashing a rom.
