We are pleased to announce the first release of Virtuous Primo, this is based on the leaked 1.56.401.11 release RUU. We would like to give special thanks to Football for the RUU.

This build currently falls as an X-Series release, how ever it is suitable for use as a daily driver if you can live with a few bugs. We hope to have ROM feature complete as soon possible. Check bellow for a full list of what is working and what is not.

Primo is the result of a collaborative, team effort by the following developers:

Features

Based on the Primo ROM (1.56.401.11).
Fully Deodexed
Ported for almost full functionality on all of supported devices
Heavily optimized for fluid performance and usability.
Overclocked kernels with numerous additional kernel modules.
Built-in screen state frequency scaling (1.1Ghz-307MHz/ondemand screen-on, 768Mhz-307Mhz/conservative screen-off), via custom built virtuous_oc C daemon.
Market-sourced applications (Gmail, Maps, Voice, etc) automatically installed on first boot into /data/app for easy removal.
Bloatware and unnecessary applications removed.

Supported Devices

Important Notes

You must complete a full wipe prior to installing this ROM the first time. We also recommend wiping between upgrades, but you are welcome to try upgrading without a wipe. However, no support will be provided if you file a bug without having wiped prior to submission.

To ease the process of reporting bugs to the team, we made a public bugtracker where you can report any bugs you found. Please make sure you read all the existing entries there to avoid doubling the errors.

OFF TOPIC: I have checked the Desire S section here some time ago and the activity was close to zero. Lets hope Virtuous Team will bring some souls around

This rom is really great, no real issues so far, only had some scrambled letters (picture) but reboot solved it.

In then latest base, HTC added a feature, long pressing APP SWITCH opens MENU. I made another key remap, to re-enable the Search button

Before -
Menu - Opens Menu
Search - Opens Recent Apps
Long Press Search - Menu

After -
Menu - Opens Recent Apps
Long Press Menu - Menu
Search - Search

To apply, unzip the contents of the attached file and adb push to /system/usr/keylayout THIS IS NOT A FLASHABLE FILE

Can someone please confirm that the Bluetooth is indeed working?

Yep it is. I have successfully paired 2 Nokias. During the first attempt it stopped scanning, but worked after reboot.

Another issue - there is a lag sometimes, so I overclocked it to 1305 MHz and it feels OK now. Let's see how the battery level will decrease with this settings.

Besides the above - great work team Virtuous.

Apparently, there is a Beats Audio fix for Primadonna on xda: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1560728&page=3

Has anybody tried applying it on Desire S?

Does anybody have an opinion to whether Proxuser's ROM, Primo S, is better than this one at the moment? Thanks

Just flashed it, but it seems that it isn't working. When i flashed it it said: not installed desire hd files. When i select beats the audio does not change or something.

In proxusers rom i was getting freezes from time to time, but i think they are a lot the same.

Ohhh thats cos of the check...You have 2 ways either modify the update script to bypass the dhd check and then it ll work...else just copy all the files in system to respective system folder using root explorer or es explorer...dont copy inspire or metainf files if you doing it manually...should solve the issue

I'm really glad Virtuous has released another ROM. From the installation script, loading animations, theme, to the ROM itself. That's how it should be done. Thanks!

Now time for the feedback. Don't you think the proxuser's release is more smooth? This new sense seems a bit laggy (app menu is ok, only switching between homescreens). Even after o/c to 1.1-1.5GHz interactive (but CPU usage monitor shows it's not 100% loaded during switching screens so I guess setting higher values are not helping at all). I've been always comparing animation to my friend's iOS and only once it was really smooth - in mentioned Primo-S.
Anyone else noticed it? Is there a chance it can be tweaked?

I copied the files (no inspire and meta) and when i select beats iBeats/urBeats I notice some difference compairing the 'normal' equalizer (I think the beats setting is better than the normal one). So i think it is working..

Was on Prox's PrimoS v3.0, and have flashed primadonna today, due to the issues i was facing with mic and speaker not working during calls nterminnently (reboot used to fix the issue). Will check if the same happens here.

@virtuousteam What are the future releases of the ROM gonna be like? what are the new fixes in the pipeline?

Could you please add in the next release ability to map volume up/down as next/prev? (same as it was in Quattro ROM). For a daily use, when you listen a lot of music it's a must
Also this thread seems quite dead to me, cjward where are your news?
