Well I didn't have to kill anything. It booted right up. I can navigate through the whole thing without anything crashing. Note that because the back button doesn't work you must pull down the notification bar and click on settings to go back. To get out of settings, go to task killer and kill the settings task.

I've been looking to figure out how to work on these. I have knowledge of how computers work and know how to program in python (not quite java I know). What exactly is done to improve these builds? Driver changes or something of the sort?

Thanks for the alpha build. Great to check out ICS, albeit slowly.
How the hell are you not having the major issues everyone else is having? Did you do a full wipe or did you flash over another ROM? I've been working on this for a week straight now and I still can't get it to start up without having to do any manual work.

all you developers here and at xda need to pull together to make this port happen. too many people are working separately on this and it will turn out to be a mess. i think the goal is too have a functioning rom to tide us over until cm9.
There's more going on behind the scenes than you can see from posts here or there. Also, there's people I have no issue working with and there are others I'll murder. Let's leave it at that.

So here is my updated ICS build: http://www.multiupload.com/9GU1LSL0M5 (without updated kernel) and here is an updated kernel with touchscreen support: http://www.multiupload.com/FA21TGXG4M

Do a full wipe, flash the ICS build, then flash the kernel. There are still systemui FC's, but that will probably require an updated EGL driver...

Edit: this build should have mediaserver start fixed.
I hope you don't mind but I'm going to add your builds in the OP. It makes more sense to do it that way and update this thread with your/our builds instead of having two threads or a hodge podge of posts since our bases are similar (I'm working off of you and OMJ).

You may need to add a atmel-touchscreen.idc file to get ts working without pointer mode.

Location system/usr/idc.
We've been working on that and from my own testing, it completely killed touch screen support for me and for OMJ it provided no benefits. Believe me, we're not walking blind on this one.

i heard the guys at xda are super close to a working release now. is there any way to get rid of the those 3 onscreen buttons?
Yep. It's a one line edit in the framework overlay. Just added it because it's easier to use vs. inputting all keys with adb.

that's cool, i see no reason for them when most phones will have the capacitive buttons anyways. i think it was made for the nexus alone.
We added the software buttons because before tonight the buttons on the phone didn't work.

I was going to wait until I had 3G completely working before I posted an updated ROM but I'll throw what I have if you guys don't mind 3G being MIA for the moment.

So this alpha is no longer working on the original Incredible? Is it the kernal that is Incredible 2 specific? (I'm a bit of a noob at this)
It never worked on the OG Inc.... ROMs are device specific.
