So here is my updated ICS build: http://www.multiupload.com/9GU1LSL0M5 (without updated kernel) and here is an updated kernel with touchscreen support: http://www.multiupload.com/FA21TGXG4M

Do a full wipe, flash the ICS build, then flash the kernel. There are still systemui FC's, but that will probably require an updated EGL driver...

Edit: this build should have mediaserver start fixed.

I hope you don't mind but I'm going to add your builds in the OP. It makes more sense to do it that way and update this thread with your/our builds instead of having two threads or a hodge podge of posts since our bases are similar (I'm working off of you and OMJ).
So to flash, you only need to do so in recovery?

You may need to add a atmel-touchscreen.idc file to get ts working without pointer mode.

Location system/usr/idc.

Could you elaborate on this a bit more?

We've been working on that and from my own testing, it completely killed touch screen support for me and for OMJ it provided no benefits. Believe me, we're not walking blind on this one.
you guys are doing what you can. im glad to see we have sorta a team working on this. do yourselves a favor and take tomorrow and maybe friday off and enjoy the holiday.

i heard the guys at xda are super close to a working release now. is there any way to get rid of the those 3 onscreen buttons?

Yep. It's a one line edit in the framework overlay. Just added it because it's easier to use vs. inputting all keys with adb.
When I load the build and then the kernel I still have to use both fingers to use touch

Double tap.

The ts is working now w/ the kernel aeroevan posted.

I was just letting ppl know you need to add the file I posted. It's not in the rom.

that's cool, i see no reason for them when most phones will have the capacitive buttons anyways. i think it was made for the nexus alone.

Its not too hard, I mean the nexus s has hardware keys as well.

Honestly I hope newer phones get rid of the hardware keys too. More space efficient, software keys will tuck away w full screen video, and in some apps, plus they rotate when the screen orientation changes

Plus soft buttons on screen can be themed. And modified. And new buttons added. But that's just play stuff. The rom counts. Themes pass the time but I use the rom.

Sent from my brain using human to phone transport technology.

We added the software buttons because before tonight the buttons on the phone didn't work.

Flashed the rom, and then the kernel. Booted fine, got to what I assume as the first setup screen, and then got the systemui not working message
couldn't get it to go away. Is there supposed to be a little white circle on the screen that moves with wherever I'm touching? I'm not complaining, as I know this is still a WIP. I'm just happy to get to actually boot Ics up

I want to think everyone involved with getting Ics up and running on the ol' Dinc2. You guys are the best!

Yeah, I forgot to add that file in the build. I just pushed it with adb. OMJ is making some progress backporting EGL stuff from gingerbread into ICS to get EGL working, but I'm not really sure how much progress can be made on that side without new drivers. The next thing I was planning on looking at is actually getting audio working (since I just got libaudio-msm7x30 building but audio still doesn't work). Also, as a side note wifi should work with the build and kernel I posted earlier.

If you want to disable systemui (which prevents the fc's) just use adb:
Code:
adb shell pm disable com.android.systemui
Which is a temporary workaround until the EGL drivers work.
