Jelly Bean Developer Preview from Google I/O, Altered to Function on the VZW Galaxy Nexus
Reverse Engineered from the GSM Google I/O Build

Obligatory disclaimer: You are responsible for any consequences resulting from tweaking, rooting, or modifying your phone or tablet. If something out of the ordinary happens we can't guarantee that it can be undone. Neither RootzWiki nor the developers associated with the contained ROMs, mods, themes, tweaks, or leaks are in any way liable for anything that happens beyond this point.

This is NOT the official and final Jellybean edition/NOT built from source or pulled from AOSP; this is based on a nandroid backup of the GSM preview build that was rolled out at Google I/O. There may be bugs, crashes, freezes, or other issues. The butter may leak out. Install at your own risk, and make sure to enjoy yourself when you do.

This buildhas been provided by jdkoreclipse and is listed as v3. This is as close to AOSP as possible at this point; it includes only those fixes required to grant expected functionality to your phone. There are no altered themes, no replaced kernels, just the experience Google intended. Only expect developer help out of the kindness of their hearts.

pardon the silly question,,,,,,,if i have v2 do i still need to do system reset.....thanks
I just did a "wipe cache" and then "wipe Dalvik cache" through CWM and then installed the V3 zip file. The phone rebooted normally (no delays) and is working so far very well... no crashes or freezes. But, to be on the safe side, I leave it to the more experienced flashers to suggest you what to do.

Thanks to the developers and OP. Great work :)

Hmm... GPS doesn't seem to be working on V3 for me, just doesn't seem to turn on. Maps and two other apps (Androsensor, GPS Status) both don't seem to be trying to initiate a lock. Anyone else having similar issues or not?
JDkoreclipse authorized me to release his plain-jane v3 today. It's up in the OP. Have fun! I'm running it right now.

And not to be an ass... I had vascular modification surgery on my left leg yesterday and am still under the effects of the pain medicine today. Please pardon the not-as-fast-as-some-of-you-would-like response times; I'm doing the best I can.
Well, get better soon! Thanks for your work on this.
Announcement

It's been a fun run, gang. When this thread started, it was just my attempt at keeping you guys hooked up with as close to the stock Jellybean experience as possible. Since I'm not a developer, this thread relied on the kindness of others to stay alive. JDKoreclipse is owed a huge amount of thanks for sending along his fixes all the while taking care of his own VanirBean project.

RazorLoves has taken over the "As Close to Pure as Possible" project, Razor's Jelly. Unlike me, he can fix things on his own and integrate fixes from other developers. I encourage those of you who want to continue using a curated, maintained, revisioned, as-close-to-stock-as-possible version of Jellybean to give his work a try while we all wait for AOSP to roll around.

This thread will remain open for you to discuss JD's latest v3 build, but I wouldn't expect maintenance beyond that; if he sends along more fixed files, I'll continue to host them and link them in the OP. Expect no official support or follow-up in this thread unless another dev pops in to save the day.

Thanks again for the fun experience of trying to start and maintain a thread in a Developer forum. I have learned a lot that will help me do my job around here in working with Developers to highlight what's going on behind the scenes now that I have a taste of the demands they get to enjoy.

Stay rooted, my friends!

Razor started his own thread earlier today. See the "Razor's Jelly" ROM in the VZW Development Section.
Quick question. Is this v3 the same as VanirBEAN v3? Or is this somehow different?

I am still on VanirBEAN v3 without any noticeable problems, but i honestly don't know what i'm gaining from the popcorn kernel.

I believe the v3 in this thread is supposed to be jd's "plain Jane" jellybean ROM. The "real" Vanirbean definitely has more tweaks than just a kernel change.
should be golden as long as you wipe system, dalvik, and cache.

Not exactly since the recovery tools are probably not 100% JB compatible. It is likely Google has changed the way partitions are wiped and restored.

Has anyone had any luck using Google Now with a Google Apps account? (as in, not @gmail.com)
My gapps account used to work but doesn't anymore and i'm wondering if this is the result of a google policy change or of me switching to gapps for business

I was having the same issue couldn't figure it out. Finally decided to enable the "Google's location service" and BAM instantly everything started working. I don't want that enabled, but it's the only way I get any GPS right now.
Ok I lied, that just covered up the issue. GPS is definitely not working. HELP
Went to a different build JellyBelly2.2 everything worked great.
GPS worked fine for me today, although it took a few minutes to lock on.
I also can't find any GPS satellites. Maps seems to only be able to use cellular data and other apps like GPS Test Plus never see a single satellite. I loved this build but I'm gonna have to switch over to Razor's with working GPS.
The built in tether app works on this but is it like with other custom ROMs in that it is legit to use?

Have you tried this (the updated fix... second one in the OP).

Everything's perfect for me.
Has anyone had any luck getting VerizonSSO.apk to work? This is required in order to use VZW apps like My Verizon and NFL Mobile. I have installed it, but when I open up the My Verizon app, it says "No free VZW connection is available. Try again later or log in using WiFi." So, if I turn on WiFi and try to log in, the Verizon Login app shows up (VerizonSSO.apk), enter my username and password, and it just says "Services are temporarily unavailable." Any ideas?
Any luck on this oldblue910? I have been hacking around trying to get My Verizon to work, without luck. Tried an old zip to flash, installing apks from backup, nothing.
My Light Flow Accessibility is still on after a reboot. Strange.

I will say the app is not working correctly in Jelly Bean. It is being very inconsistent. I contacted the dev on Friday and he said he was going to work on a Jelly Bean update starting this weekend.
While troubleshooting Light Flow (paid vesion), I noticed a 2.1GB(!) debug file at /storage/sdcard0/lightflow/tmp/. I turned on logging shortly after upgrading to JB, but turned it off when the developer admitted there was an issue with LF running on JB. I'm not actively logging, but the program still writes to the log file.
