Well, I must say, I really like CyanogenMod! I am glad I tried it. It feels so much lighter, less clutter. And it lets me install only the apps I want. I notice I do not really miss sense and it's widgets. I also see that VU was not originally made for the Desire S screen size (resulted in some weird rendering of some widgets like Jorte, and some other minor things). CM7 is.

It might use more battery than Virtuous Unity, but I'll have to test further (about 16,18,20 and 32 mA during lock/screen off, according to 'current widget'. It gives much higher results when in airplane mode (70mA) but I find it hard to trust that since overnight I lost just about 2 percent of the total battery charge). If you have tips to increase battery life with CM7 let me know. I just started measuring in VU so I can't really compare. Just before I switched ROMs I saw VU give 8mA during sleep. So that is something to strive for!
I miss giving different notification sounds to different messages (in Sense I could specify between mail and other messages when choosing sounds). Is this possible in CM7?
I like the lockscreen gestures of CM7!
Overal, this Custom ROM is a good candidate for a permanent stay on my Desire S.
