Thanks to jcase for the RUU
Thanks to Retrokid223 for the deodex ROM
Adrynalyne for Busybox

Keeping it simple. We all know what this is. This is the OTA update rooted, deodexed, debloated.

All VZW garbage removed. HTC bloat still there minus the Stocks app.

To do:

Full list of removed bloat.

Desensed version.

A "lean" debloat is also being worked on where everything non essential to Sense will be removed.

Heh, been doing all of this at work so I've had to do it quickly and quietly :p

I'll have MD5's up and other goodies once I get home which will be in about 2 hours!
Thanks!

RootzWiki is my new home now so I'll be paying much more attention to the forums over here and releasing my work in a much more timely manner than before :)
Can't say I blame you with all the recent drama there at "the other place."

No problem. I closed the thread over there as soon as I made my last post because I did not want it to become another place to begin flame wars and have elitist douches *ahem* I mean users cause problems.

I'm currently running [ROM] Official 1.70.605.0 MR2 OTA Deodexed Rooted Busybox as my ROM with the 1.70.605.0 Radio.

I enjoy the stock looking froyo Roms however I would like to modify a few of the Status bar indicators. The first one being the Battery indicator in the status bar.
Instead of the traditional battery indicator that leaves you guessing as to what percentage of the battery is left I have looked around the "that other place..ha ha" Thunderbolt section for a thread that would help me to add the percentage increments onto the battery icon itself.
I did find 1 such thread in the Thunderbolt Themes and Apps section.
I followed the directions to the letter (nothing really that hard about it) and after rebooting my device, I got hung on the Thunderbolt Splash Screen for what seemed like an eternity.
I pulled the battery, rebooted into recovery, found my backup and flashed it.

Again just looking for some direction as to what I need to be looking for in order to modify my deodexed Rom. By modifying I mean changing my battery indicator as well as replacing the 4bar signal indicator to the 6bar indicator. And possibly removing the gps indicator all together.

If I'm doing something wrong by all means let me know. I got big shoulders j/k.:tongue3:
I am wanting to learn.

If you can't find a zip to flash another way would be to change the images in your system manually. You can use a program called ninja morph to do it. You can find battery icon images on droidpirate.net or extract them from any other Rom or theme. If your running a stock Rom though this method won't give you the 1% increments, only 20% increments. But its better than nothing.

Can this Rom be used as the one at the end of the rooting procedures, or should I just switch to this one after going through the entire root method?

Thanks,
You'd be much better off following the current root method then switching and flashing to this ROM.

@area52

Thanks for the info.
The 20 percent increments is something however it was not what I was looking for. You did give me the insight as to why my device hung on the splash screen. I was trying to flash a zip that had an animated battery icon that used the 1% battery increments. And being that I was on stack I'm willing to bet that this was causing my hangup issue.

You can easily change the battery icon at UOT Kitchen http://uot.dakra.lt/ . I suspect the signal strength indicator may be more involved, but I am not an expert / dev.

Hey ProTekk, thanks for this. This may be froyo but they did a great job with this build it's really smooth and fast. I can turn down gingerbread for now after running this. Running ADW ex and everything works just right. Thanks again :D
