CM9 Official Nightly Discussion Thread

UPDATED: Official 20120707 has new Audio Libs, Adreno Drivers and new Wifi Drivers ATH6KL v4.4 added !

Objective: For those that Flash the official nightlies to post questions, concerns, updates and fixes. We are here for each other. We are community.

The Official Nightly is for those that want to be current with updates, in other words the BLOODY edge of the blade. This discussion forum is for the official nightlies that come out when CM releases them. They are not on a schedule nor are they released nightly. Check the below link for the most recent ROM.

There are a few that ask if the wipes can be done before the flash of the ROM and GAPPs and yes they can. I have experienced that the wipe works best after, but the wipes can be done before. It is up to the individual doing the flash. You can wipe as much as you like before or after the flash.

Do a Nandriod Backup with your recovery, such as CWM or TWRP.
1. Flash current nightly http://get.cm/?device=tenderloin
2. Flash current GApps http://goo-inside.me/gapps
3. Wipe cache and dalvik with your recovery.
4. Reboot and enjoy.

QUICK TROUBLE SHOOTING
> If you have problems with bootloops try wiping Dalvik and Cache once again. This works most of the time. If those wipes don't work try a factory wipe along with dalvik and cache, bewarned that a factory wipe will clear all of your app and user data, but this might be good if the data is causing the bootloops. It has been reported that factory wipes in some cases help a great deal. If you use TiBu, just remember, before restoring your data why you wiped it to begin with. If you restore you might be restoring the problem.
> If you have problems flashing, check the MD5 of the file to see if it matches the download link. The majority of the flash failures are caused by bad downloads.

> If you have WIFI issues click here to follow Nevertells FIX summary http://rootzwiki.com..._10#entry557589

> USB won't connect to PC: Settings/Storage/Menu (3 dots upper right)/USB computer connection/check Media Device (MTP). Then Settings/Developer options/Uncheck Andriod Debugging. Then you should be able to connect.

Please PM with suggestions.

Know issues:

Camera is broken

VPN is broken

For Gapps issues flash this https://www.box.com/...c28d6d80fb71bdb (Gapps Fixer) only if current Gapps are broken. Issue is unknown at this point.
*** NEW GApps Available gapps-ics-20120429-signed.zip*** TRY THESE FIRST!
(Always try to flash current Gapps)
CM7 had this issue and it was caused by the incorrect date and time setting, check this first. The best case scenario would be to wipe cache, factory wipe and wipe dalvik then reflash rom and gapps, this should correct the problem, but if it doesn't try the Gapps Fixer.

Thanks and enjoy.

A SPECIAL THANKS TO JCSULLINS FOR ALL OF THE TENDERLOIN ATTENTION!

I would like to thank first and foremost the CyanogenMod team for making this possible. Without the hard work of Dalingrin and all of the devs that have put their talents into this ROM we wouldn't have ICS. Thank you.

I would also like to thank Eyeballer for his unofficial nightlys for keeping us on the BLOODY edge. Thank you.

Reverend Kyle, Thank you for always looking out for our HP TouchPad COMMUNITY!

Reverend Kyle's App REVTV.

A VERY SPECIAL THANK YOU TO NEVERTELLS THAT ALWAYS TRIES TO HELP WHEN NEEDED!

Remember, the devs and Reverend Kyle devote their free time to ensure we have a great experience with our HP TouchPads. If they have a contribute button buy them a beer! Cheers!

THIS OP HAS BEEN THE WORK OF ALL INVOLVED HELPING SOLVE PROBLEMS AND BRINGING UP ISSUES! THANK YOU ALL VERY MUCH!!!! WE ARE COMMUNITY!!!

Thank you to all United States and allies for your grand service. (I, of course, appreciate you!) I will end with Semper Fidelis! (This is a very Marine thing but it actually calls to all of us!)

Just noticed a new problem with my TP. Over the last couple nightlies my battery life while in standby has gone down the tube badly! I was using between 30 and 45mA. Now it is 300 - 500mA! This is with WiFi off. I will revert to a back-up in hopes of correcting this problem. Hopefully no one else is experiencing this issue!

Edit: Seems this started when i decided to do a full data wipe and start with a fresh install! As soon as my battery charges (it was down to 20% after 22hrs on standby) I will try the restore.
First of all, thank you for your service! I too have this issue on the myhealthevet site when trying to refill prescriptions, and the only browsers I've found that work are Firefox and Firefox Beta. I think there's a problem with the certificate on that site, which causes a process exception within the built-in android browser engine, and I've also run into the problem with some other sites as well. Its not very often that it occurs, but when it does, Firefox is then used to get around it. Its not a full-on resolution, but is a valid work around that gets the job done. I use ICS+ browser as my daily driver and supplement with FF as needed.

Thank you for the feedback and your service as well! An interesting piece of added info... when using another tablet which came with ICS did exactly the same thing! So it seems to be an ICS browser issue rather then a CM9 bug.

Exact opposite for me. 6/12 is much better battery life wise than 6/4.
6/12 and 6/14 kept rebooting whenever I loaded titanium backup for setting an initial profile.
Anyone else experienced anything similar? I'll load 6/15 and see if it continues.
I had reboot too but seems random.

Thank you for your service! Semper Fi! I know there are a few vets here and of course we are here for each other!

Why don't you try Dolphin Browser. It has worked for me in the past but haven't used it lately.

READ THE BOTTOM OF THE OP! There are many to thank!

What app do you use to monitor the power consumption?
What app do you use to monitor the power consumption?
Better Battery Stats
That can tell you the current consumption, e.g. current draw?

Click on it, it is the link to the app and details. Its a good app. Its a link to the the 'OTHER' forum.
I'm still on nightly 0604 because of WebCM9 running on this version, have installed the latest audiolib and everything runs 100% perfect! Thanks a lot to the devs!
CM9 (latest nightly) now also is running on my old Samsung i9000 like hell.
Thinking to sell my iPhone4 and iPad2 now :)

That happened to me before. No matter what I tried it wouldn't load the first page. It was only the first page too. Are you on the latest version of Tapatalk? if not try updating.

Edit..... Actually it's happened on other pages too but other times it would only load the first half of the page and that's it. I think it's a bug in Tapatalk.

I installed tapatalk 2 and it hasn't happened since.
Thanks for the reply Papau. Based on this I fooled around with different combinations of audiolibs/mictest. With the 201206121756.zip and mictest I no longer have the Uzi - but in Iris the voice is VERY draggy, and the response in S-Voice is so slow that the app is rendered useless. Nevertheless, these are issues that I will keep picking at until I have a solution The peer guidance available here is nothing short of phenomenal and much appreciated.

Thanks again.
Iris is an Alpha in Google Play - and the Samsung apk's - including S-voice - are downloads from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1662255

Have you had any problems with either Iris or S-voice - are they useful enough to take the effort to download them and install? What did you use - what procedure/program - to install S-voice and any other of the S3 apks. Are you avoiding the network problem by changing your build to identify yourself as an S3? Did you get the parsing error that some had that requires you to move the apk under data/app and set permission via Root Explorer?
Reason why I think it's a bug in Tapatalk is cuz on an older version of the iPhone app, back then I couldn't load a thread that had more than a certain number of pages ( I think it was 250+ or somewhere around there). Once I updated it went away.

If you search Tapatalk on google play store you'll see it. Tapatalk 2 just means version 2.x.x

I did some testing here based on your query and found that not only FireFox, but Opera Mobile (and I assume mini too), and Chrome Beta ALL bring up the veterans web site properly. For some reason Dolphin, the default Android browser and the enhanced ICS+ browsers do not.

Stranger and stranger, but hope this helps,

BTW ... Thanks to you both for your service!!!
