Add flag for SUPER.DUPER.WIPE:

with permission from @waydownsouth, I modified his AIO ("All In One") script from mexdroid rom and incorporated SUPER.DUPER.WIPE into OFFICIAL MIUI.us ROM..

The flag for SUPER.DUPER.WIPE:
  • -wipe
What SUPER.DUPER.WIPE flag does:
  • -wipe = A full wipe that is much more through and is HIGHLY suggested over any wipe options in recovery menu. It will also format partitions to EXT4 (NOTE: THIS WILL DELETE ALL USER DATA! DOESN'T TOUCH SD CARD!)
If no -wipe flag is added to the end of file name it will not wipe...

Adding flags to the file name:

If default file name is:
Code:
[B]MIUI.us_glacier_1.9.16_Eng_Deo_ZipA_Signed_thederekjay.zip[/B]
To perform a SUPER.DUPER.WIPE by adding -wipe flag to end of file name:
Code:
[B]MIUI.us_glacier_1.9.16_Eng_Deo_ZipA_Signed_thederekjay-wipe.zip[/B]
Get IT??? Its as simple as adding "-wipe" to the end of the file name. Must also contain no spaces or else it will not work!!
Instructions on flashing OFFICIAL MIUI.us w/ demonspeedMOD:

* FULL WIPE ALWAYS *

1. BACKUP ALL APPS with preferred method (ie: MIUI Back Up, Titanium, My Backup)
2. Download ROM
*I HIGHLY suggest chaning file name on your comp and not in recovery if possible.. Could save you a headache!*
3. Set flag for SUPER.DUPER.WIPE
4. Place ROM on ROOT of your SD card.
4. Boot into Recovery Mode
5. Do a NAND BACKUP!!!
6. Flash ROM.
7. After flashing is complete, Reboot...
8. Done!
[DOWNLOAD HERE] [OFFICIAL MIUI.us 1.10.14 w/ demonspeedMOD] [10.14.2011]

ATTENTION: demonspeedMOD now merged into OFFICIAL MIUI.us, again... :D
(So that means one file, not two... get it???)

  • Swype in all different flavors, Available [HERE] (9.18.2011) - Download and install as a normal app! Make sure that /system/app/Swype.apk and /system/lib/libswype.so (or libSwypeCore.3.7.85.27287.so) is REMOVED from the device before installing or it will FC! (If coming from clean install you dont need to worry about this...) v3.23 OEM has everything working ie: vibrate on keypress, 3.25 I believe is lacing that feature...

Darn if I'm not d/l this now and contemplating another MIUI run. Argh! Why do I keep coming back? OK, I'll give it another go if you can tell me how I can access my apps (as in an app drawer) and be able to delete apps from the desktop so I can populate & customize my home screens. Or, at least, point me in the right direction. Thanks in advance.

there is no appdraw, you could use a launcher from the market.. there is the option to hide apps on the home screen under: Settings> Personal> Access Control. just select the app and choose an option... hope this helps

Cool beans. After reading some of the other users' results in the other forum boards, I took the advice of using the newest radio and have to say my battery life improved considerably. Granted, I've only given it 12 hours of testing on the newest radio on this ROM, but I could tell quite a difference after running the Panache radio on the Synergy RC2 ROM I was using the day before and the battery life I was experiencing then. By the time I switched to the MIUI ROM, I could tell things were setting down in regards to battery consumption on the Synergy RC2 ROM and starting to calibrate and even itself out; but the rate of loss was still too much - which sucked, because I really like that ROM.

I have only one widget running (News/Weather), WiFi always on and my CPU settings are set to 1113MHz / 245MHz (Interactive Gov.), and I'm down to 71% after a full day of taking pics of my little guy's soccer practice and repeated reboots and stress load testing. In a long about way, I'm finally happy w/a MIUI ROM and have you to thank for it. I'll come up with two test plans by the end of the night to test tomorrow and report the results if anything changes, but things are looking good and I'll probably delete my CM7 NB nandroid backup by EOD tomorrow to use this as my DD.

This release runs great, I have to admit that I have had the best results with battery consumption than I have with any other ROM so far. I ran this for 24 hours with SetCPU installed and then without and with the settings being where they are I got 18+ hours with moderate use, without I still got 18+. I wasn't into MIUI at first glance as Sense had a hold on me as far as the eye candy goes but after some serious testing and comparing I have to say this ROM is just awesome, functionality is clean and responsive even on low battery plus I love the wifi sleep policy, I know I always forget to shut it off when leaving for work in the morning so I'm not scanning all day and remembering after the battery is at 20% by 4pm.

Great work all around, support is always there and he updates when he says he is. There was a bug in the last release and he updated as soon as he had the fix and didn't have to wait for two weeks to get it.

So... must be something wrong with my phone then. I got pretty good battery life with previous release but not the one from last week. Can't wait for this week release though. :tongue2:

Yeah, from what I've been reading this week bad battery life has been experienced by quite a good number of people while on this version, and was noted - and supposedly corrected - for a fix in v1.8.5.

Also, from what TDJ says, he is going to release two versions of the v1.8.5 update later today or tomorrow. One, being a straight vanilla ROM, as from MIUI; and the second being released with his kernel and tweaks and mods. I'm excited to see both, along with the feedback from all the users.

From what I read that is partially true, the second release is actually a flash update for the Vanilla release with all of his add ons including but not final kernel, themes, ect. It will be interesting.

Does anybody know why cyrillic SMS from MIUI wouldn't be readable on crackberry/iphone ?
On iPhone it looks like a bunch of asterisks *********.
When I sent a message to myself it looks fine.
And I cannot read a cyr message sent from iPhone either.
I remember there was a SMS setting in CM7 "Input Mode" where I could switch between "Auto/Unicode/...". Is there anything similar in MIUI?
Any hints would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for releasing v1.9.2. I'm running your DemonSpeed Mod this time around just because I love your kernels. Your hard work and the release of this ROM in the midst of all you went through last week is only a testament to your dedication to and love for MIUI.

Thank you for uploading v1.9.16. I know others have had luck w/the AIO script, but I haven't and I've given up monkeying around with it. I've d/l the file 3x, followed the OP carefully, made sure I put the "-" at the end of the tag "...thederekyjay-dsmod-bfs-.zip", flashed it manually through Recovery and also through CWM 5.0.2.0 - all to no avail. I finally just flashed the v9 kernel on top of the vanilla installation separately, and pushed the zipalign files manually. I do encourage others to try it and report their successes/failures, in the case I am overlooking a minor detail.
