Hello everyone! So I have been working very hard to provide Miui to all of us G2x users. This is a port of Miui HD Celebration by Miui Germany for the Optimus 2x to the T-Mobile G2x. It appears as though everything is working very nicely. What was changed to get this working on the G2x? I'm glad you asked....

FYI - For those unaware my builds contain optimization scripts that zipalign /data/app, /system/app and /system/framework on every boot. It also sets the correct permissions for these folders on every boot as well.

Installation Instructions
1. Download rom zip
2. Boot into CWM recovery
3. Perform a factory reset
4. Format /system
5. Select Install zip from sdcard
6. Navigate to zip and flash.
7. ENJOY!

GETTING THEMES TO WORK NOT NEEDED ON VERSION 1.8.19 AND UP!
Very easy. Just create a folder "theme" (without quotes or capital letters) in /data/system and then they will apply just fine.


Kernel Info
This includes the stock CM7.1 kernel. Other kernels such as Morfics and Faux's DO WORK, but they have quirks. Sometimes calls can't be heard using faux's (reboot usually fixes this) and camera gets wonky using Morfic's. Flash them at your own risk!

UPDATE - Faux's latest kernel has been working great on Miui Build 1.7.22. I can't comment on CHD build but I imagine it will work fine on it as well.

Addtional Info
Data not working? Try this - Do a hard reboot by holding the power button + volume up for approximately 10 seconds. Your phone will reboot and data should be working like a champ.

I guess MIUI is like a love or hate thing... almosgt like a whole new OS... im downloading now... i tried it on my mt4g and couldnt get into it... Can yall tell me any of the benefits of it... i heard there is no app drawer...? Batt life good? really excited about it.. my phone is finally reliable with cm7... but i wanna check this out...

The big deal imo is the themes. You can make your phone look so many different ways it just never gets old. The themes change everything from the status bar and pulldown to the icons. Not to mention there are multiple lockscreen types to choose from. You are able to install a custom launcher for a more "traditional" android experience. It takes a little getting use to but once you do it's amazing. What I did was create a folder and dumped all of my apps into and placed it in the launcher dock. Makes it feel more familiar. :)

i really love the iphone keyboard, that is the only feature i like about IOS, i Agree, i love the themes, is just a complete new experience.

couple things, after making the theme fix, both markets don't connect, it says that there is no network connection, i rebooted, clear data on the market, but still no luck.

One other thing, android keyboard don't auto complete, and even if you have the android keyboard as default, when you reboot phone, Iphone keyboard goes back to default.

Creating the theme folder will have no affect on data whatsoever. However, there is a bug where sometimes on reboot data is not present. This bug is present in CM7.1 as well (at least it was for me) and is present here since Miui is based off CM. To get data working just do a hard reboot (hold power + volume up for about 10 seconds) and it should work after that. As for the keyboard not sticking, it is my understanding that this bug is present in Miui in general. Hopefully a fix will roll out in one of the future updates. I would recommend using Titanium Backup Pro to freeze the iPhone keyboard or see about uninstalling it.

Hard reboot fixed the market, i never lost APN, it just couldn't connect to market, even on wifi, i'm using swiftkey X and it seems is sticking with that one, other than that the ROM is just beautyful.

you have to use a file manager, root explorer, is the one to go, you have to buy it from the market (is one of the best paid apps for rooted phones i got for android for android), open the app, go to the folder called data, iside that folder there is a folder called system, go to that folder, the press menu and create a folder called "theme" (without the quotes), the reboot into recovery and fix permissions.
