Presenting... ShadowICS: CM9 based ICS for the Droid X

It's getting really late in the morning, but I'll post this here for now. I've managed to get ICS to boot onto the DX using a combination of RevNumber's CM7 for GB code on github, the CM9 code from the CyanogenMod team, various little tweaks from a large variety of places. Most importantly, what actually got it working up to the point of being able to boot to the lockscreen: http://rootzwiki.com...ts-going-wrong/.

What is working:
It boots.
Bluetooth
Touchscreen
Wifi (sort of)

What isn't:
Radio
Wifi
Touchscreen
Hardware acceleration
Half the external keys
Sensors
And probably much more.

This is a very, very pre-alpha build. I'll be setting up the sources on github in the morning, however it's just getting too late to continue. I'll post a video tomorrow as well.

You can follow me on twitter (@acrognali).

Download link:

Build #1 - http://www.mediafire...edwg59jvk57llw9
Changes: first build that actually boots

Build #2 -http://www.mediafire...hern8476c7cy22a
Changes: Updated some of the new cm9 stuff, touchscreen works.

Remember, this hardly works at the moment, however, so please don't try to use this as a stable ROM lol.

Requirements for running the ROM: be on .602/605 (haven't tested on 602) and a 2nd-init based ROM. Wipe data/factory reset, wipe battery stats, flash.
Recommended gapps version: Usually the latest, which at the time of this edit is 20111128, which is what I recommend.

UPDATE 11/29/11: "ShadowICS" is now on Github: https://github.com/ShadowICS. You can also join #ShadowICS on Freenode to discuss development. In order to setup the development tree, you'll want to follow the source.android.com guide and use
Code:
repo init -u [URL=git://github.com/ShadowICS/android.git]git://github.com/ShadowICS/android.git[/URL] -b ics
as the repo URL.

Thanks:

Code:
<br />
cvpcs<br />
RevNumbers<br />
preludedrew<br />
CM Mod Team<br />
Hashcode<br />
luigi90210<br />
<br />
This will be a growing list of people that have contributed indirectly or directly to ShadowICS, without whom, this project would have not been feasible.

Awesome work! Is there any chance that the touch screen at least could work anytime soon? There's not much that can be done without that haha. But still, very nice!

That's my top priority right now. I'm moving my build system from a virtual machine to a partition so that I can build faster. It gets old using Ubuntu in Virtualbox rather quickly
I have a pretty good idea of what needs to be done thanks to Preludedrew, so I'll implement that as soon as I get everything ready.

Awesome I use to run ubuntu, but it kept breaking on me. The wifi was always terribly slow even after a manual driver update. Goodluck, I can't wait to test this out!

Not on github yet, Ubuntu was being finicky with my Windows 8 partitions so I spent way too much time trying to fix that. I'll need to study for a few hours but I might be able to get it setup before I go to bed. If not, I'll be able to get it up tomorrow.

I have several questions.

1) What version of Ubuntu are you developing on?

2) When you get the project synced to Github would you mind posting a quick guide on syncing and building a release?

I *MAY* be able to help you build and test ICS.
