Finally! I know its been a long time since a final release of Project Elite. I can only hope that you will enjoy this. For awhile there mojo and I were both working and mojo had his computer break on him so P.E had some set backs. Well finally I was able to gain some more time by switching jobs and day and night we have worked to bring this to you. Here it is Project Elite v6.5 based on AOSP 2.3.4

There are two version a themed and un-themed. The themed version is basically stock gb but it removes the orange and replaces it with android green.its not much different from stock but flows well with Gingerbread. Thanks to Alastonia for this and also he made a special PE animated pull down that can be flashed separate.

If your market does not seem to download apps then just open it and accept the terms and they will then being to download. I've seen this a couple times with the new market but either way your apps should come back.
If you choose to install with tibu or another app please do not restore any system data. if you do do not post bugs until reinstalling without system data.

Ok first I've seen on some Gingerbread ROMs since installing that people can not hear when they first make a call. Reboot the phone if this happens and it will NOT happen again. This has happened on numerous roms so you may have seen this before but just a heads up so don't freak out if this happens just reboot and you'll be fine.

Its been so long since a final release we tried to get as much as possible into the changelog but may have forgot somethings. This was not on purpose. Please let me know and I will add whatever it is to the credits. Although we tried to get everything sometimes mistakes are made but not intentionally. The last thing we want to do is not give credit or mis credit anyone.

One more thing would like to give a huge thanks to everyone who has helped with PE. As always PE is always a team effort between themers, testers, and others as well. I'd like to thank GirluvsDroid, Alastronia, Cereal Killer, CorCor67, Koveski, Peter Alfonso, Liquid, MBK, The whole CyanogenMod team, and RootzWiki. Big shout ot to the rootz for support developers, rooters, and users alike!

Bugs: the bluetooth voice is gone again. this must have broke in a recent sync with google because it was working up until last week. this is something new. you can still use blue-tooth and voice commands but you cannot hear the lady saying speak now.I will be looking into this.

Update the rom now has the fix for the drag down to unlock issue some were having trouble with. As of 5:25 est 7/22/11 the fix is in the rom. if you flashed before this date and you cannot unlock your phone by dragging down after checking the box please flash the fix below.

ROM Download: The market was just updated to 3.0.27 so this was added to the ROM at 1:35am est if you already installed the ROM then you can install the update.zip below to update the market.

Please, please wipe your dalvik cache before installing. Cm and other have dalivk cache in the system and pe does not. Just so this doesn't cause any conflicts please wipe that.

to go with the theme here is a special inverted themed gtalk and gmail by alastronia

Congrats to actngrezy and mojodroid on this release! For my Droid, it's the best so far!

Some tips for those who use TiBu: I always wipe all partitions (data/cache, system, boot, Dalvik cache -- and I do it several times, although that's probably not necessary) and start clean. In all my testing of 6.5 test versions over the past couple of months, I had no problems with restoring all my user apps and data with TiBu, but please listen to Greg when he says (in the OP) not to restore any system data.

I conducted a number of experiments in the months of testing and inevitably, where wonky behavior started occurring, it was after I restored data to a system item, even the items in green! I found this to be true going from PE v6 to the 6.5 test version, and going from one 6.5 test version to the next -- so it would be true going from Froyo to GB or from a different GB ROM to this one, as well.

If you must restore system data using TiBu, my advice is to do it one item at a time and run for a bit between. If you see any weird behavior after restoring data from a system item, just go back into TiBu and wipe the data from that item.

Also, once you have your apps and data restored to your satisfaction, remember to make a nandroid backup before you add a theme -- that way, if your theme causes any problems, it will be easy to go back to your well-functioning setup without having to start all over.

GirLuvsDroid,

This is probably a stupid question but if you don't restore any of the system data, what exactly do you lose and is there a way to get that back without restoring it through TiBu?

Thanks.

No, this is not a stupid question! If you don't restore system data, then you lose all the settings for the items in /system/app. I just went into settings, including Elite Settings, and set it all up like I like it again. It takes a little time, but believe me -- I know from experience and testing -- it's a time savings compared to the time you'll spend dealing with the problems you'll create by restoring system data (not to mention the frustration caused by that!). And this isn't confined to just PE ROMs -- as far as I can tell, this is consistent across all GB ROMs.

I've been following your instructions on restoring data for months now. Is this a slight change in that we shouldn't even restore the system data of the items in green?
