My gf's Ally finally crapped out on her. I figure I might as well try to get it working via root. She ran out of space. What size SD card do you guys recommend? I'm hoping the debloat will help her immensely.

Anyone have a problem with your phone not charging after installing this?

I did it this morning and my phone won't charge now. The light comes on like it's charging but hte percentage just keeps going down, even if it's airplane mode with screen off drawing the most minimal power.

Sounds like you have a dead (read: EOL) battery. Does this happen using a different battery? Different ROM?

Sorry, I was frustrated and posted in a hurry and wasn't clear.

I was trying to charge it off the usb port of my computer, which as previously worked fine with my D1 DX Droid Eris and D4 since I had forgotten to bring a wall charger in to work with me.

When I got home that night and plugged it into a wall charger it did charge up fine, so it was just a problem trying to charge from usb. I did try three different ways (plugged into the usb hub on the side of my monitor, plugged into a powered usb hub as well as plugged directly into my tower) trying to make it work and got the same results. I ended up putting it back to Velocity once I got it charged up and it's been working for the kids since so I let it go. I was trying stormdroid because of a flaw with Velocity where it would bypass the slide lock screen if you slid the keyboard open but stormdroid ended up having the same issue, both bypassed the slidelock unless you put a pattern or pin on it.

I just realized I haven't tried a usb charge on it since I put it back on Velocity, I should try that to further research it. As its our backup phone, the kid's use it as a pda in airplane mode unless the wife or I breaks our phone and needs it, so I got it working again and forgot about it.

The sliding bypasses lock screen isn't a flaw, it's a feature. If you open the keyboard, the OS assumes you're wanting to do something. You can see it isn't a flaw because if the phone is locked while keyboard is out, and then turned back on, the lockscreen is in landscape like normal. :)
