This is the beginning of the return for RoootzBoaaaat.

Built from source, fresh from AOSP--Android 4.1.1

We are changing our focus a bit to speed and stability rather than 1000 features. Hopefully you guys will like it.

Build 2 - Beta - 07-12
Camera/Camcorder fixed - no need to dirty install from previous JB ports
WifiTether Fixed
Voice Search Fixed - no longer have to download offline pack to make it work
SuperSU added to build
Insecure boot - adb remount, etc working now
Root Explorer was updated on the app side, no more issues there

New GApps with the help of Kejar31 adds:
--App restore fixed
--New Music
--New YouTube
--New Gmail
--other random bits

su installed, download SuperSU or Superuser apks whichever you prefer.
Install busybox from market "Busybox installer or other"
Google Now/Voice Search works with included Gapps.
RootzBoat wallpapers included
Toro volume fixes applied
Correct ERI included
Various VZW bits included..

This is obviously the second build of this ROM. Fixes and adds will be coming super quick, but wanted to get this out there to give you crackflashers something to do today.

what exactly is wrong with camera?

i was doing some digging, and noticed that in lib/hw there is a camera.goldfish.so that isn't in any other build that we had (onics tho)
i was going to try deleting that and see if whatever issues with camera go away. haven't flashes this yet tho.

It struggles switching to camcorder/FFC.

I can see what its looking for..but can't find it ATM.

In my 4am adventures I realized with the help of razor loves I copied a lib in the wrong place. In system/media you will see lib_pnn544.so. move it to vendor/etc/firmware. Haven't found anything this affects yet tho BTW..

The can seems to be looking for Google_endpoint_jni

You tube is not here yet and can't download from market for some reason. I'll look into this tonight. For now push from another build.

At work now so can't fix anything until I get off.

Boot times are normal now.

Lol looks like y'all are having fun. I'll be putting together any issues you guys find and work out solutions tonight when I get home. Had to work.

Just remember I spend like two hours on this at like 2 am. Some of the stuff will be real easy fixes just ran out of time this morning.

Wanted to let you guys have a build to play with today tho so don't be too angry at me. But hope y'all are enjoying it. Let the fixing begin!

I'm unable tether in any way after booting this up. When I try and activate any of the built in tether options I get a "settings force close" . Any insight on what could be causing this?

One issue I've noticed, Gmail previews in notifications aren't the expanded version like we saw at I/O.

Also, would it be possible to add the newest version of Play Music to gapps? The version from the Markef has the ugliest widget known to man, lol.

Ya I downloaded the files. They seem to have been the right files.

So what I found is:

App restore works but is flaaaaaky. The first time I installed the downloaded files it didn't work. The second time I did it did work. Only thing I did different between the two was wait for my mobile signal to actually come up instead of just using the wifis. So if app restore is important to you try wiping again (I know I know)

Calendar sync works, music sync works, gmail sync works, contacts sync works, settings restore, currents, books.

Browser sync does not work, picasa sync does not work.

Camera seems normal to me.

I'll look into the general flakiness of the app restore, and non working sync on apps affected. Once again I work today so it'll be late before I figure it out...

On second thought. I figured out why bookmarks were not syncing.

Uploading a new gapps in a minute. I don't know if you will have to wipe to get the bookmarks to sync but you could try not wiping and see if the browser shows in accounts after flashing. New link will be there in about twenty...

Damn I just finished a full wipe...now new gapps? lol just my luck.

I downloaded gapps/rom this morning on slow internet and it didn't take too long from goo.

Alright, posted. Mustang, you might not have to wipe again, I just haven't tried so can't confirm..

Don't need to wipe for this.

Fixes Picasa sync.

Must manually setup sync within the Gallery application after reboot.

OK......really need to go to work now, before they decide they don't need me anymore

Haha I'll try it dirty (like it dirty every now and then anyways ;-)) and we shall see what happens. Thanks man. One quick question. I've never used SuperSU till JB and I don't like it. I like the regular superuser app. Can I simply download superuser from play store install it and then uninstall supersu or will that screw stuff up?

You will have to delete supersu since its in system/app but shouldn't cause any issues

From with-in the app. setting "switch superuser apps" click on that, it will clean itself then you can use the other.

Yeah...I need sleep. Sorry about the version confusion.

I'll check on the WiFi when I get home as it does seem weaker.

Won't be doing much on it other than that as I need to sleep and play with the kids a bit tonight.
