This is the beginning of the return for RoootzBoaaaat.

Built from source, fresh from AOSP--Android 4.1.1

We are changing our focus a bit to speed and stability rather than 1000 features. Hopefully you guys will like it.

Build 2 - Beta - 07-12
Camera/Camcorder fixed - no need to dirty install from previous JB ports
WifiTether Fixed
Voice Search Fixed - no longer have to download offline pack to make it work
SuperSU added to build
Insecure boot - adb remount, etc working now
Root Explorer was updated on the app side, no more issues there

New GApps with the help of Kejar31 adds:
--App restore fixed
--New Music
--New YouTube
--New Gmail
--other random bits

Build 1 - Beta build
Built from AOSP source
su installed, download SuperSU or Superuser apks whichever you prefer.
Install busybox from market "Busybox installer or other"
Google Now/Voice Search works with included Gapps.
RootzBoat wallpapers included
Toro volume fixes applied
Correct ERI included
Various VZW bits included..

This is obviously the second build of this ROM. Fixes and adds will be coming super quick, but wanted to get this out there to give you crackflashers something to do today.

So I did a dirty flash coming from paranoid android ICS and this thing booted in like 2 minutes. Root explorer was working fine. My camera was taking normal pictures no yellow tint. My work email on exchange was working fine. And it was super fast. Only issue I had was the google now would fc on me. I read to download the english voice pack. Not sure where to download that from. However everything else was going great. I rebooted and it hung at the google logo. Pulled battery and same results. No big deal I was easly able to restore my nano back up or my paranoid android with no issues. The rom is smoking fast nice job. I am using touch CWM and had no issues with restoring my back up. I did think it was weird that was the first dirty flash I have done and root explorer, camera pics everything was good except google now and the reboot but hey it is looking very sweet so far. None of the issues reported by most. One last bit of info I still have not flashed the jb bootloader. But damn it booted fast the first time

I put the apk in system/app, changed permissions, rebooted and don't have a music app.

What did everyone name it? BC it was d/l from drive I got a weird numbered and lettered name.apk

Called Play Music now instead of Google Play Music... and named Music2.apk

One problem I am having is I can't see 5GHz WiFi anymore.

Aghhhh! This stupid apk still isnt working. I'm going to wait and see if Xoom packages it. I can live w/out a widget for time being

Sorry its not working for you, I just tried it myself following this and it worked..

Removed old app

Download from link

Rename it Music2.apk

put in /system/app and change permissions

rw-r--r--

Reboot

App and widget in app drawer.

That's what I did, which didn't work. So I tried installing from the market and now I get this

Edit: removed old apk from system/app and rebooted before trying market

Edit2: got your apk working. I must have missed a step. Never had issues like this with a simple apk before. Thanks again

My battery is not doing well even on WiFi right now. I need to full charge and see how it runs tomorrow though probably.

Get on 4or3G then say that. ;p
2hrs into a charged battery and at 31% eeeep.
1.45 is screen on though xD

I feel better now lol. I'm at 13.5 hours 1.5 screen and 20% lol. I'll judge more when on a full charge.

On the preview builds I could see 5G wifi but wouldn't keep connection. Didn't care att since my router is dualban hopefully that gets fixed cause no lag CableTV streams are the best while on the dumpingstool

No one here but myself and the presses and I get to sleep till noon!
Just flashed the latest jb alpha trinity kernel which seems like a waste now that ill be reflashing it soon.
