I'm using it on aero's 0.8 bfs, seems to work just fine.

What's so different between this and aero's build?
Just updated from newer source?

Hi! Just registered mainly because of this topic, actually. In the difference of this between the other two Kangs I see (CondemnedSoul and aeroevan), what is the significance of building from an "updated source"? What exactly has changed? I don't think aeroevan will be updating his kang anytime soon because he seems busy with many other projects. As for this vs Condemned's kang, does this have gapps pre-installed or will that have to be flashed?

I think you have to flash it with this build. CS includes it in his build.

I actually don't know if there is any difference. All I'm doing is pulling the source down from cm and building it for my device. There may or may not be any changes that are noticeable. Ill just post them here to share, I'm sure other people would like to stay updated but don't want to take the time to build it themselves.

I actutally had a couple of weird problems the last couple days... I doubt anything you did with the build, it's probably something with CM's source. But my screen shut off after my alarm this morning and wouldn't come up until i reboot the phone. Also yesterday I had to lock and relock the phone a couple times to get the screen up.

I haven't had any problems like that...sorry I can't help

Are you running aero's kernal?

I wonder if it's possible for you to have a CM 7.2 Kang that is based off the most updated source (whenever you get around to doing it) with GApps/Aeroevan's latest kernel pre-flashed onto it. I think that would have some merit. Not many CM kangs come with GApps and I think there are some who aren't flashaholics that would enjoy having all of this stuff pre-built into the ROM.

I could definitely look into it, I'll be building again pretty soon. These can be flashed directly over cm7.1 or any previous 7.2 kang, just so you know.

Well I'm on the stock INC2 sense ROM. It's not so bad. I installed Zeam Launcher + Perfect Keyboard and I'm okay with it for now. I'd like to eventually flash a CM7 kang, but I don't feel like doing constant flashing of new things because I'm not even too familiar with rooting yet. I'm just patiently waiting for a ROM that is a "complete package" (Custom ROM+Custom Kernel+Up to Date and generally Bug Free). What I stated in my post is what I'd definitely be willing to flash onto my phone. All the other kangs don't have Aeroevan's kernel on it already, and most are missing GApps. Also, they're not really up to date anymore (although the small updates aren't that meaningful I'm sure)

It's not that tough, it'd be easier for you to flash everything than it would be for me to make a pre-built ROM package. You can flash everything at once really.

That's the gapps package you would need.

Put everything into one folder on the root of your sdcard to make it easier, to flash the kernal you will need S-OFF.

MAKE A BACKUP before doing anything.

Well it may not be tough (I'm decently proficien with computers/software/linux) but I'd prefer everything to be packaged together so that it's tested and everything is stable. I'm pretty busy this semester and I don't have too much time to be a flashaholic/troubleshoot my phone if something goes wrong, you know? :)

But yea, I like looking at these ROMs anyway. I always like improvements in software because that seems to be the weakness of Android vs iOS IMO

So far condemnedsoul is the only one with a cm7.2 kang with gapps packaged in that I know of. You will have to flash aeros kernel afterward though. So either way you will have to flash something extra.

Yeah, I was aware that he has the only kang that has it. I'm just looking for a ROM that has everything packaged together and tested so the developer knows its stable. Know what I mean?

I know what you mean but they all have something that needs to be flashed initially. Your best bet would be to use condemnedsouls Rom with the stock cm kernel. It's completely stable fast and has good battery life.

Yeah. That seems to be the path I'll be heading toward, depending on what happens in the next few weeks. Still enjoying my stock ROM phone for now :D
