It's not smooth at all. It can feel buttery at times and a brick wall at others.
hate to hear that. i will wait to flash until it gets better. who am i kidding i will probably flash tonight. one question, does it support mobile data? a buddy of mine ran ubuntu on his nexus 4 and it doesnt have mobile data yet. i assume it does since this isnt quite the same as that.

no data, but what is working; screenshots for us who are thinking about trying this out!
not a whole lot, it's not meant to be an actual functional os at this point... i would have put a working/not working list but i figured people who would even want to flash this would know what they're in for haha.

also i dont think it has any screenshot functionality and i have no other cameras.

I think the thumbnail in this thread is about the jist of it. I didn't realize it was in fact the Ubuntu that was for the nexus devices. One question, is at simple as wiping data/cache/dalvik to get back to Android?
Also flashing another ROM of course.

Does Ubuntu support updates from inside the mobile os ? I mean, once you have flashed it on your device , are you able / do you have an update option in the settings for the os ?
Not yet but I would definitely expect that when it reaches consumer preview status!
