So who's tried SL? I'm thinking of testing it out on a few of my servers after reading up on the CentOS vs SL debates (namely, the whole "timely updates" aspect). Just want to get some people's opinions before I take the dive on my Linode. (For those who haven't done it before, using a custom distro on a Linode is a bit of a PITA to set up.)

I haven't even bothered to try it yet, honesty. I just looked at the instructions on Linode's wiki and went WTF. VMware Workstation(/Player?) has auto-setup that works by just selecting an ISO, and entering a user name, password, root password, and that's it. I'm amazed Linode doesn't have something similar where you just upload a netinstall ISO.

But alas, looks like I'm going to be spending some time with VMware and possibly a second Linode for a while.

I don't even have an extra computer to run it on. All I've got right now is my laptop, Cr-48, and gaming desktop.

Also, need to finish testing it in VMware still... Among a dozen other projects. Bleh.

Seems I hit a snag. Oops.

Edit: Oh hey, turns out is just doesn't like VMware's default of using SCSI disks. Problem solved.
