CyanogenMod is a free, community built distribution of Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) which greatly extends the capabilities of your phone.

This is an alpha release, but you should find it stable for everyday use.

THIS IS NOT HTC SENSE AND NEVER WILL BE. DO NOT ASK ABOUT IT IN THIS THREAD. THANK YOU.

Code:
#include <std_disclaimer.h><br />
/*<br />
 * Your warranty is now void.<br />
 *<br />
 * I am not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards,<br />
 * thermonuclear war, or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please<br />
 * do some research if you have any concerns about features included in this ROM<br />
 * before flashing it! YOU are choosing to make these modifications, and if<br />
 * you point the finger at me for messing up your device, I will laugh at you.<br />
 */
This is an AOSP-based build with extra contributions from many people which you can use without any type of Google applications. I found a link from some other project that can be used to restore the Google parts, which can be found below or elsewhere in the thread. I've still included the various hardware-specific code, which seems to be slowly being open-sourced anyway.

Visit the CHANGELOG for a full list of changes and features!

All source code will eventually available at the CyanogenMod Github!

Kernel source code is availible at Bumblebee's github!

If you'd like to to contribute to CyanogenMod, checkout our Gerrit instance.

INSTRUCTIONS:
- First time flashing CM 7 to your Sensation (or coming from another ROM)?
1. Unlock/root your device and install Clockwork Recovery via ROM Manager
2. Do a Nandroid backup!
3. WIPE
4. Install the ROM
5. Optionally install the Google Addon

- Upgrading from earlier CM7 or nightly build?
1. Do a Nandroid Backup!
2. Install the ROM (your Google apps will be backed up automatically)

HOW TO REPORT BUGS OR PROBLEMS?
- Was it a hard reboot? Get me the file "/proc/last_kmsg".
- Was it a soft reboot or a "boot loop"? Run "adb logcat" and get me the full output.
- Pastebin links preferred
- Please use the issue tracker whenever possible!

*Coming soon* Please visit the CyanogenMod Wiki for step-by-step installation walkthroughs and tons of other useful information.

Thank you to EVERYONE involved in helping with testing, coding, debugging and documenting! Enjoy!

The current buglist:
-Recording 1080p video for a couple minutes causes a soft reboot
-Misc Browser crashes (CM bug)
-Zoom issues in Camera

Other than those (relatively) minor bugs, this rom is perfect.

New Changes
- More overlay fixes
- More hardware acceleration fixes
- Potential battery life improvements
- Dialer scaling fixed
- Potentially fixed the occasional hardlock when using GPS.

I recommend using radio 10.56.9035.00U_10.14.9035.01 because this is the radio that we personally tested.
Please note flashing someone else's kernel may ruin your experience with this rom and I advise against it. This rom was a joint effort between Bumblebee, cretin45, toastcfh, defer, myself, and the rest of the CM team.

Do the team want a donation of a motorola a2dp headset for testing? I am in Australia but don't mind posting it to you guys... I have a couple spare a2dp headsets and this is my least favourite :D

From Kmobs himself -

The reason wifi calling is FCing for some of you is because I typo'd the file name with a O instead of an 0. Just delete the MS-blahblahbalh.apk from /system/app/ if your wificalling is FCing.

Thank You Kmobs and to all involved.
I have been waiting for Cm7 for months now, as many other people have too.

I did clear my battery stats as well before flashing, been running this all day, with noticeably longer battery life, silky smooth transitions and robust performance.

Thanks Again!

for some reason the signal is dropped when the screen is switched off. That is only when the screen is switched off and not when it is switched on. It will however reconnect afterwards. So the observations are

- signal is dropped when switching screen off with the power button -> can be seen if you switch the screen off and on again really quickly, you can see the 4 grey bars with an x above.
- If you switch off, wait a few seconds and switch back on you immediately have reception so this only happens briefly when the display is switched off.
- phone rings when you call it when the screen is off so there is reception
- call is dropped as soon as the proximity sensor triggers the screen to go off

TL;DR signal is dropped when screen is switched off by power button or proximity sensor

Using a Voda UK Sensation btw!

I cant seem to get haptic feedback working on the keyboard.
Also when the phone is rotated on its side "while using the text keyboard" the actual text field is not visible, preventing you from seeing what your typing.

I had some Fc's but after a few reboots everything settled in quite nicely.

Thanks again

Did you do a factory reset? Clear cache? Clear dalvik? There is also a superwipe script that I have if u want it.

Hello i just put this on my sensation. Everything is perfect but the following

I press power button choose regular reboot and after it reboots the phone my battery has dropped 20 percent. This happens every time i reboot it actually kills my battery 20 percent i know this cause i tried rebooting at 19 percent battery remaining and couldnt start phone till i plugged it in. I did not flash the radio u listed cause im worried that will ruin myphone should it be radio doing this regardless of me not flashing the listed radio(never flashed a radio before)

i did a wipe data and cache and flashed the rom, thats it,
Why is my battery dropping 20 percent on reboot everytime, any help would be greatly appreciated

I just noticed this is from sept 11.
Is this the latest release for cm7 for sensation , still alpha? is there any newer versions out of cm7 etc for sensation>?
