Ok my grandma has a nook tablet that is 1.4.3 and I was wondering if there is a way to sideload apps without wiping it or rooting it there are certain apps not in the nook market that I want to install on it anyways hopefully you can answer my question.

If I remember right B&N closed some loophole for side loading apps. You aren't going to find much info at Rootz though... And as much as it pains me to say it... You need to go to xda-developers... There are exponentially more threads over there that might help you.

Rooting and installing NT hidden settings to enable unknown sources would be the way to do it. You could also get the play store and another launcher if you wanted.

All of the development is on xda. Look there for what you need or more info.
