I am curious. I have a replacement arriving on Tue that will have GB on it and I am wondering if the new method for rooting the D3 does indeed work or not on the X2 with GB pre-installed.

Does anyone know? Has anyone tried it yet? If not then I am going to when the X2 arrives. But would be great to know in advance.

This is what I am referring to

Windows is trickier. You'll have to wrestle the driver monster. You may also need the android sdk installed but not sure. I tinker in development so all my boxes have the sdk already.

ok.....yes the one click method works on the X2. I SBF'd back to Froyo...took OTA...then rooted with the one click with zero issue on Windows. It was actually, refreshingly, painless.

Yep, successful, Win7 x64, clean factory fresh X2. I did right click and run as administrator, unsure if required but habit when I do anything.

Hello,
I've just rooted my Droid x2, which has the OTA Gingerbread upgrade, using Pete's Motorola Root tools. Worked great. I'm afraid I can't find the link I used, but it is from this forum.
