** BIG NOTE: THIS ALL WILL WIPE YOUR XOOM MULTIPLE TIMES

Ok guys I solved this so I am putting the procedure here in case anyone else gets stuck in the same boat.

You need to SBF the xoom back to stock to come out of this situation.

Grab and install motodrivers here: http://www.motorola....0008806b00aRCRD
Download SBF file from here: http://forum.xda-dev...d.php?t=1316358
--> alternate link to SBF files http://sbf.droid-dev...verest/list.php ** (Thanks fearm3now)

** I used wifi onlyVZW_MZ604_signed_HTK75D.combo.sbf.gz as that was the build number I remmeber my xoom had

Dowload RSD lite from here and install: http://rootzwiki.com...ng-droid-x-sbf/
** I used RSD Lite 5.4.4

Once RSD is installed, plug and make sure it says your device is connected on line 1. Unzip the SBF to get a .sbf file and browse from RSD lite to .sbf file location, click start and let it do its thing.

Once rebooted into stock 3.2.1 enable usb debugging, adb reboot bootloader to get into bootloader (assuming you have adb setup)

after that I followed the instructions on this thread to restore stock ( Build HRI66 for US Retail ) http://forum.xda-dev...d.php?t=1049485 and took OTA updates to get current.(Please note I stopped after fastboot oem lock)

Now I have fully working 3g xoom.

Hello I have the exact same error that occurred while using fastboot oem lock. Unlocking the xoom is the only thing that I had ever done to the device. A month ago I unlocked it and realized I was over my head and decide to go no farther. Seeing that ICS was released I was going to attempt to update the xoom today but realized I needed to lock it and did. Being a complete beginner to xoom hardware and OS and after reading your fix I believe I need more detailed instructions, sorry. I have all drivers and android-sdk software installed. The build number of this xoom is HLK75F any additional help would be greatly appreciated thanks so much.
Dave.

I was unsure of which SFB file to use, but mean while I've down loaded MZ602_HLK75D.zip for the build I have Hlk75f is this the correct file, aside from that I think I understand. I'll wait for your response. thanks

The other question I was wondering is since the xoom is in this state can I load the ICS update instead of rebuild to stock and if so how?

Use the SBF file for your build so correct on what you picked.

The only way to come out of this state is to SBF, so if you have SBF file for ICS build you can surely flash that. (Always SBF on cautionary side since wrong SBF will brick it, FYI)
