Ok I'm having a Battle. What's better iOS, or Android. My answer was, none. There both good, just depends on your POV. Now am I on a illegal drug? No, I used my past experence with iOS? Wait? What's wroung with me.....Well here my POV. Let's TRY to not make this a flame war. Note TRY.

I've used both iOS and Android since day 1. Android is Open Soucre, and much more flexable. But that causes a lot of issues with updates, and new OS pushes. Take Our device, a lot of HTC Devices are getting ICS. But since we have a weird version of sense it's going to be a while before we get ICS. (Sure there's always Rooting, but that's for later) Android biggest selling point, is it's biggest weakness. How can Company's keep up with 15+ devices with different hardware? How can they promise an update, when they know it's gonna be a while before it's OTA. They just can't, even Sammy dropped the ball on ther GSII ICS update. Sure there's a leaked Offical. But I wan't to keep this a Non Root POV. But all this only really matters to those who want the latest.

My Mom, and dad have high end phone. One an Amaze (stopped her iOS faze), and the other a GSII. They have little to know knowlege about there phones. My Mom likes the camera, and my Dad Like his huge GSII screen. They don't even know what OS there on, it's just Android. That is how a lot of Android users are, they don't care for updates. They just like the choice in phones, the ease of it. The fact you can get a nice phone with prepaid. Or have a Smartphone for free with certain company's.

Now here's where most people will make they're points. Rooting.

It's Simple. If you really want something, you work for it. Rooting is proof. I hated Expresso, I had my phone for about 15 minutes. I was Rooted, S-Off. Running Undeads Senseless. Now we Rooters always have an answer to any android issue. "Root it and flash a custom ROM". This gives us many options, that aren't hard to do. We can pretty much run any, and everything on any android device. It just takes work. We can make a fast phone, go even faster. We can enable, and take advantage of many Linux kernel features. Like native Wii Mote controll, or USB host. I don't feel I need to express this to much.iOSApple is closed source for 1 reason. Money. Just saying, there's no other reason. This isn't to flame, just to get that out the way. Why have others making Money of your idea. Ok. iOS is hands down the simplest, and easiest OS to use. Cut you bias out, and think. iOS is fine tuned for just an iDevice, and nothing else. The closed soucre is heavly taken advantage of here. It allows Apple to make an OS for set device, and push updates out super easy. If you use an iPod, you know how to use an iPhone. You know how use a iPhone, you know how to use an iPad. Simply, there's 0 learning curve. This is great on a user end, my idevices can be on all on iOS 5. I don't have to worry about not being able to run a app, or be outdated. If I buy a iPhone 4s, I'm promissed iOS 5. I'm promissed iOS 6. When iOS 7 come, and I have the milked down version. It's time for an upgrade anyway. The way I'm saying this makes it seem like I love iOS. But I'm just saying it how it is. BUT iOS has many issues. There's 0 customization, and I mean 0. You have a 3.7" screen. That's all. No custom anything, just iOS. There's complex methods of unlocking for use on another carrier. All your music has to be bought from iTunes, unless you put your own in iTunes. So if I buy a CD on my iPhone. I can't use it on my Zune. Just a iOS device, or have it converted to ACC for 25c. iOS is nothing with out iTunes, and that's a huge draw back. I can't get music, or a video on my Phone with out iTunes. Then if you enabled Auto Sync, and you use another computer. You have to delete your music to get a new song. Or if it accidently Syncs, all your Apps and music is gone (Only on Other computers). iOS from a hardware POV is weird. Apple is strict with there phones, and It's good thing. But also a very bad thing. A iPhone will never have a part unless it's fine tuned. Take the OG iPhone. It was only Edge because back in the day, 3G radios where bad. Cost a lot, and killed battery. It's great for the user, but you lacking a major key part. The iPhone 4s didn't have 4G for 1 reason. LTE and 3G radios where two chips, not one when they where making the 4S. Apple didn't want to risk battery, and space for a radio that sucked. HTC messed up hardcore with this. They released the Thunderbolt, the 1st LTE device. But it has two data radios, all ways running. When your on 4G, your on 3G to. Unlike us, we have a single radio. So when where on 4G, we don't have a second radio wasting battery. Apple trys to keep there device's smexy, and sleak. But it cost the users a lot in the end. I could go on forever about this. But I feel I'm getting unlogical. Jailbreaking. It's iOS Rooting. An iOS device is nothing with out a Jailbreak. This allows for the features we love on Android to be used with iOS. It's also the only way to unlock with out sending it in to Apple. We all know what Cydia is. So I'll leave that.So Rootz what do you think?

To be honest, I don't really know what you mean by app incompatibility.
I've owned Motorola Cliq>Mytouch 3G Slide>G2>Mytouch 4G Slide in the past 2 years
I've never had any app compatibility issues on any device of mine, unless it was too demanding for the hardware to run (which pretty much stopped after the Cliq)

So I really don't understand what people mean, when they say android has app incompatibilities...

Back to the main point however, you really can't compare these two OSes. They're different takes on accomplishing the same tasks. And as opposite as night and day in some regards.
Apple users buy their devices, because they simply want it to work. They don't want to waste time setting it up, messing around with settings, modifying, and optimizing. Although that's great for usability, it does limit the options and customization you can have.

That's where android comes in. It's a lot more open and customizable. You can change almost anything, if you don't like it. But if you do change it, you're on your own when it goes wrong. It's more for the purist than the average user.
