v2.5 INSTALL​
1. Verify that you are running minimum busybox 1.19.3 and have functional wget command​
2. Open terminal and type:​
su
mount -o remount,rw /system (if running pb 2.2 type sysrw)
busybox wget [url to be added] -O /system/xbin/makedevice.jpg​
3. Next type:​
makedevice.jpg​
#- If this command fails then type:​
chmod 777 /system/xbin/makedevice.jpg​
#Then repeat makedevice.jpg command​
4. Device will reboot and load terminal for you :)​
5. Type:​
su
sysrw
pb​
/*​
* No need to create backup directory before starting this is done by default​
* Also note that all files are installed during makedevice.jpg​
* Just toggle what you want to use​
*​
*/​
6. Reboot after all mods toggled and other goodies utilized​

Just wanted to put this out there for anyone having issues with 3g / wifi. I had the same issues on 2.1. I had to SBF 2 nights ago before I could try 2.2 (Droid X decided it wanted to lose root for some reason, completely unrelated to PB). Since then, I put 2.2 on amd haven't had any issues going from wifi to 3g and back. So there seems to be a break down on the phone / rom and an SBF and reflash your rom clean appears to fix it.

Ok. Take a look at those missing folders. Depending on how you extracted the zip, you'll need to build at least one folder manually on you sdcard.

For example, I extracted using root explorer. This put the files in /sdcard/extracted/pb2.2. The script is looking for the files in /sdcard/speedsoftware/extracted/pb2.2. As PB was the only thing in my extracted folder, I created the speedsoftware folder and copied the entire extracted folder into it. Be sure to note the case in the error messages too. I believe Android is case sensitive. So if it is showing that you don't have the folder /sdcard/speedsoftware/"Extracted", building one called "extracted" wont match.

Keep in mind, JB mods will kill your built-in screenshot ability. Nothing to do with PB, jbm does that on a clean miui install.

Edit: unless jbm has been fixed, haven't tried it in a while

Try with a / in front of the sdcard. Depending on where it puts you, you may need it to be a full path. If that gives the same error, cd in each dir.

#cd /sdcard
#cd extracted (no / to begin these lines)
#cd PB2.2
#sh setup.sh

If you get "not found" errors along the way, that tells you where the problem is too.

@BMC - I haven't looked at your script yet, but you might be able to set the links as relative instead of full. Like "./script.sh" instead of "/sdcard/extracted/script.sh". That would make it play nice no matter how it was extracted or moved over.

firstencounter & wiz may have found an issue that causes wifi/3g issues on some devices, it has to do with a buildprop limit on the DX, both are doubling the number of elements allowed in their respective roms. You should check into this.

BMc, I'll shoot it over to you in the am. It is an easy fix, but required recompiling Rev's CM7 (CM9 for FE). I don't know if it device dependent or not (I only have the DX). If not, you can definitely include it in PB from what I already did. If it does, or if it is rom / 2nd-init dependent, it may take some more work.

Edit: Not even going to take the time to fix all the grammar mistakes I made. You can tell I'm tired and typing on my phone.

BMc, sorry I haven't gotten back to your PM yet, been crazy lately. I am mulling it around in my head though.

Question on PB, can the setup be run from adb? Might be easier to fix the readonly file system issues from there.

If you want to try something, open the flashme.zip, and remove the system/lib/modules dir from the zip, and then flash, & see if that works

Yep, I'm seeing the same thing. The symsearch at least is already loaded by the time you are in cwm, even if you aren't on the conservative gov. I don't see anything else in the zip that it could be. Even the updater-script doesn't affect anything either.

Edit - If there was a way to "like" your post from my phone I would Bob.

You flashed with the cat.gif and rom manager method didn't you? If so, that should work for anybody (once the cat.gif permissions are fixed).

Seconded. Back on 1.12.9 PB and supercharger really seemed to make a difference. When I installed the most recent version (3.23) it ran far more quickly than before without even adding any mods on.

The only additional change I made was to switch to the boostedASSshenaniganBIGMAC governor... and I only did that b/c all the cool kids were doing it.

Basically, IMO, it's unlikely you'll be able to improve on Wizard's builds at this point. After all, the goal of that ROM is to stabilize and optimize it.
