In CM7 xmls in layout were damn near impossible to theme, and I suspect it will be similar with CM9. Has anyone gotten it to work?
Reason I ask is that many things that are themes, such ad the nav bar background image are controlled in layout.

You got layout changes to working in the theme? Mind sharing your apk so I can see how you do it?

From a post I made on xda

whatever layout you add has to come from that build. if the app or rom gets updated, even if the layout you add doesnt change it still has to updated to that build/apk.

First, you have to trick the apk by adding a dummy layout xml. for this example ill use the layout in the systemui. so in systemui layout i took the status_bar_expanded.xml and changed it to com_android_systemui_status_bar_expanded. then I removed all the shit thats in it and put in some bullshit. Something thats already part of the build like

Code:
<br />
<br />
    @drawable/com_metago_astro_folder_logo<br />
<br />
also, in the systemui.xml for the theme.apk you have to add the layout direction

example
Code:
    @layout/com_android_systemui_status_bar_expandedk
compile the apk. now, you have to build the real layout. do this by using a normal systemui. changing whatever you like then compiling it. once compiled, rename it com_android_systemui_status_bar_expanded, open the archive of the them apk and add it. then sign it.

and thats that
