It does work as Mr. D said.. but it will now work after you exit app.

I tried the kill app, force close, etc.. NG.

After reboot, I got BSD 2 times, in recovery now.. But It sure does work... Great Job Mr. D!

I too am curious about which nightly build was used for this ROM. It works exactly as described and all else seems to have remained stable. A HUGE thank you, [background=rgb(245, 245, 245)]Dorregaray, for sticking it out and inventing this solution. What an accomplishment![/background]

I think it was 8/10 or 8/15... I checked when I ran it, but my memory has failed me..

I'm sure he wants to fix it so you can exit and return with out rebooting.
And then rotate
And then 3rd party

Some third party are not working as stated on OP, I can confim no joy on Skype. Also I'm getting a rash of blank blue screens, and other issues such as reboot to relaunch camera, but for a "preview" I feel this demonstrates great progress. More work is needed, but I see some light at the end of the tunnel now.

Everything mention is on the OP, blue screen, reboot to relaunch camera, and skype.

I just found 1 out of how many apps that did work.

It would be great to have the list of 3rd party apps which are working and which not.

The issue with skype and not working camera after exit is the same - the skype just opens the camera twice - first to stop all preview/captures if running and second time to gather the video. I did not found the reason of rotated preview at startup - tried setting rotation and orientation in camera parameters and reported orientation from camera driver but nothing helps.

Ok sir, I will start to test some 3rd party apps for camera. Is there a way to add them to a list so people who try do not try the same..

You can add to working Cartoon Camera. I will start this later and give a go / no go

It was still rotated, I will load your latest and recheck it all..
As far as looks, It made me like a cartoon...

Ok, Cartoon Camera :

Takes pixs ok.. (tried more than 1..)
Is Rotated 90 - left
Stop and restart, program comes up, no image on screen

Take a blank pic is possible and saves it.

Ok, uCam Ultra Camera for Tablet Works and guess this, It is in perfect ratio and not ROTATED!

Ok, to add info on uCam

It does like the other apps, when you exit, will not run again until reboot... But,

It does not produce blue screen on reboot. I have tried it 2 times so far..

Its uCam Ultra for Tablets.. The one for phone works, but screen ratio was not really good.. Tablet is fantastic as far as I can see..

Thanks, It is working as advertised for me. After initialing applying the update, there is a blue screen, but after forcing a reboot, the update applies and the camera app works once as advertised until the app is exited. This is tremendous progress. Thank you.

Get uCam Ultra for tablet, when you need to reboot, it does not do blue screen.
Also, it is rotated correctly..

Ok, My report, I have tested a few... results are:

Fast Burst Camera:
Like stock camera, clean image, Blue Screen on Reboot!

uCam Ultra for Tablet:
Image view is correctly rotated, Clean Image, NO Blue screen during reboot. Sample of taken image in small window is rotated. Viewing of taken image good.
This is the best app.

Camera ICS:
90* rotated, will not Zoom, After 1st pix, image rotates correctly on screen for next picture, Blue Screen on reboot, needs to reboot 2 x's

LOMO Camera:
Does not work!, No Blue Screen reboot since it does not work!

Line Camera:
Left 90*, No Blue Screen reboot, Zoom is post picture (no live Zoom)

Pudding Camera:
90* left, Blue Screen Reboot.

I just try UCAM Ultra for Tablet
I have the same goal behavior of other apps.
in landscape mode rotate 90 ° left and crash camera driver when quit preview mode (setting go, back to desktop, ect ...)

I do blue screen on reboot with UCAM
I think blue screen is random, whatever the apps (I have BS 1/3 reboot)

Wow, I have tried rebooting like 8 times, always a clean boot.
Are you using the latest preview, posted today on OP?

What I mean is that the camera position is rotated (controls on left edge of screen) but image is correct.. I should of noted that, Sorry.

All apps will crash, everyone I tried. But my concern was reboot. On my TP, it reboots clean.

Do you have the stock camera and ucam installed? Or just ucam?

I have Stock, ICS, uCam Ultra for Tablet.

My reason for asking, I haven't had the chance to try this out on my Touchpad. But I was wondering if the actual camera apk is necessary to run uCam.

I don't really know, but the uCam acts different then the rest of the other software I tested.

For me it was easier on rebooting than the others. The others had a hit or miss where you needed to press home and power to reboot.
ANd ICS one I had to do it at least twice.

I also checked my findings more than once.

Is this going to be in the official nightly on there next release?? I only ask because I'm staying up to date with the nightly builds and I don't want to install this then not be able to update ?

Or is this an add-on install or a full from install with the camera mods?
