What tablet would you buy?

So I've been looking at different tablets lately, & I'm not sure which I should get. I'm really liking the Galaxy Tab 10.1, mainly because of how thin it is. Is there a tablet coming out sometime this year that I should wait for, rather than what's out now? What tablet do you think is best overall?

I'd say the new galaxy tab. I'll be honest and admit to having an ipad 2. I got it because the app support isn't really there for Android yet. I plan to sell it and get an Android tablet next year when quad core hits the market since Apple products have high resale value.

i was looking at the ipad2 as well, but thought I shouldn't mention it here lol. Do you like it?the only thing that's kinda making me lean towards android is the browser looks so much better. With tabbed browsing, flash etc. But the app support is definality better on iOS. Is the battery life pretty much the same on the galaxy 10.1 & ipad2?
Most if the important apps are available on android for honeycomb. Don't buy a tab based on number if apps, buy it based in what you need it for. chances are most of the apps you need are HC optimized. I also prefer the xoom to any tab out currently.

I'll mainly just use it for browsing forums and such. I'm writing this from a friends ipad2 to see how I like it. Something I've noticed is it checkerboards a lot when scrolling/pinch to zoom. Does the galaxy tab 10.1/xoom do that? Something that plays a large role in my decision is the battery life. How does the galaxy 10.1 battery compare to the iPads?
I have no issues pinch zooming. Battery life with dual 3250mA batteries?? Awesome. On moderate use i get about a day and a half. The galaxy seems to flimsy for me. I like the moto build quality as well as the vanilla google experience. TouchWiz=fail

I believe it has a slight skin a la the transformer and the a500. As they roll out updates manufacturers will be trying to differentiate their tabe from the rest (since they all have the same basic hardware specs). The TF already added more skinning with the 3.1 update. TouchWiz is already announced as an update for the 10.1. The only vanilla experience you will get is with the Xoom.
I recently had this decision at hand and opted to get a Nook Color and drop CM 7 on it. No regrets at all. $200 + an hour or so of time. So far I have not had any issues other than initial install (my fault). Battery life is insanely good.
Ya the NC is definitely the best 7" tab out IMO.

I had looked at the nook actually, I love the price but I'm not to sure 7" would be big enough. Can you easily view twitters full site/forums etc easily without having to zoom any?

Question: will the galaxy 10.1 wifi have cyanogen support?
I dont really have problems reading sites on it. Of course i always browse in landscape mode. Not too sure if it makes much of a difference.

Gah so many choices. I was looking at the viewsonic gtab & it looks like it has decent dev support & specs look similar to the galaxy 10.1, but way cheaper. What would the drawbacks be vs the 2?
Honestly you wont see cyanogen mod on honeycomb tablets until source is released....the Tab 10.1 is nice basically the same specs as the Xoom ...the difference lies in thickness and screen.....oh yeah the Tab 10.1 does have the option to place separate wallpapers for lockscreen and home screen....another thing is to consider Samsung firmware update history..they are typically slow at this process..however,this could be different with their tablets.... but perhaps the 8.9 they will be releasing soon would fit you more....either way both are good solid tablets....i love the Xoom and my wife the Tab 10.1...i think you could find arguments as to which is better..you should go to best buy and play with both of them

Watch some fed up dev at Asus or Acer leak the source from the company vaults

Haha that would be funny....Google will release it once Ice Cream Sandwich is out
I was planning on getting the 10.1 tab but got the tf instead. I chose the ttransformer because of the price, microsd slot and HDMI out. Also have the option of the KB dock but i haven't got it yet but may do so down the road.

so is it true if u drop cm7 on it...that its basically just like another tablet? not limited the the constrains of the stock nook color?
