I was wondering if it was possible for a dev to do this in a rom.. You know how you can change the color of the soft keys and battery etc in a rom? Instead of downloading a color theme separate, could a rom at some point have a hex number to color theme the phone?

Are you asking to be able to change the color of the entire framework from a menu? Just trying to clarify

Ya like in aokp rom control settings. It would be awesome to change the phone like a theme does with colors. So phone dial keys would be changed and anything else with the stock blue would be changed.

In Liquid ROM you can change the color of the softkeys and clock... Not sure about the battery (although I hear in beta 3 there are more battery options). Liquid in my opinion is the way to go now

I'm sure its possible in some way as we were able to do just that in certain CM7 roms that had the T-Mobile theme engine built in to them. I personally wouldn't know where to start with it but who knows? Maybe/hopefully we will end up seeing it in CM9 at some point. Assumingly though, I wouldn't expect to see it any time soon unless one of our beloved GNex devs is already working on something of that nature.

I believe eventually we'll get there. Just takes time. Devs have a lot they're working on, though it would be nice, and I liked it on previous versions of Android, I'm not sure how high on their list of priorities this is.

But eventually I think we'll see it.
