This is apparently not obvious, so for the record: PLEASE do not spam this thread with "this is broken" comments of any kind if you replaced or modified anything from my builds. If something was in the ZIP file and you changed it, I don't care about your problems unless you're sure you can reproduce them with an unmodified installation.

Those who follow me on G+ already know this. For those who don't, the blurb is below; in any case, use this thread as a discussion point: I'll drop by on occasion :p

Here you go... CyanogenMod 9 builds for the p990 (LG Optimus 2X) and p999 (T-Mobile G2x).
These builds are not supported, and updates may or may not happen in the future. Do not report issues with them to me, please; I'm fully aware of what works and doesn't, what's stable or crashy, and I need no reminders :)

For the inevitable reposts of this that will happen in other places: Please link people to this post, or the original G+ post, instead of linking them to the builds, especially because of the previous notes. OK?

Great stuff. Thanks you so much for your efforts. I hope you can fix it up and revitalize our G2X, do what LG never can.

Some problems people may not be aware of(I'm sure OP is)
-Music app seems to crash when playing songs with album art
-Camera is very glitchy at best
-No video encoding means camera video recording will not work

BTW, fun little easter egg - go to settings -> about phone -> then rapidly tap the version (4.0.3) (for around 10 seconds). Long press what comes up. Have fun.
Thanks again arcee.

Right, by the looks of things
  • Video recording doesn't work, Youtube playback at the very least does (it's handled in software, I think
  • The photo camera is brilliant. I think it actually produces better results
  • Music app has been fine. Sadly no Voodoo sound (because that's custom kernel territory) so it sounds a bit weak.
  • Maps got a near instant lock. GPS seems fine
  • It uses a kernel very akin to Cm7's. No Overclocking. Still obviously an early stage.
Really, the best thing is to just download it and try it out. :)

Camera in general is somewhat broken. It works sometimes and freezes up others.
The camera will just freeze when im trying to open it or it will freeze after taking a picture. Have tried other camera apps btw.
Reboot fixes it and sometimes it just fixes itself when I try to open it.

Music + album art has worked fine for me so far.

Have not messed with gps. sorry.

Hey guys, tested this for a bit and one explanation of a bug is when using Wifi Calling, it appears to connect and pop up the blue wifi calling icon in the notification area, and turns green when you call... but the call doesn't actually seem to go thru, in fact the Phone.apk hangs and becomes unresponsive. After that I had to reboot to get phone use back, but it came back with no problems. I saw the same wireless problems as anuva bloke where it would just stick "turning on" but a previous reboot had fixed that issha. Phone calls and texts are being sent with no problems, Chrome Beta is *cough* usable *cough*. I'm using it daily, I don't get the whole daily driver terminology, mine doesn't change daily. I'm gonna use CM9 for a while, especially if one of you awesome fellows whip up an even better package for us all to flash like eager monkeys. (pets eyes with napkin) You guys are the best, man.

Great job... I wonder what new information allowed the breakthroughs recently? Or was it just bulldozing through piles of code?

As far as myself, I think I'll wait a bit before trying it out. I'm back on the leaked 2.3.4 lg build, and my TouchPad is keeping me happy with ICS for the moment.

Curious about the Android 4 specific graphics bit - is this because there aren't any official ICS devices at 800x480 yet? Something that is going to be fixed in the foreseeable future as more devices get upgraded and developers have to support the screen size? Or is it something that needs fixed within the p99x builds themselves?

Bluetooth does not seem to be working. Along with that FM radio will not work either. I have tried Spirit FM radio from market that I have been using on CM7 too. I like the ability to store more preset stations compared to FM radio that comes with stock CM7 (based on MIUI). RMCC worked his magic to get FM radio and bluetooth working on CM7 and am confident he will repeat the same. I have used pre-alpha builds on HTC Wildfire from CM6 days. Must say, this is the most stable and feature complete early alpha/beta builds I have used. Thank you.

Only issue ive had that really bothers me is whenever I use slacker radio it get a pop up stating that com.android.com had stopped unexpectedly. I hit the ok button and 5 seconds later it pops right back up again. The only fix i have found is to do a reboot which seems to work fine until I use slacker again that is. Not a deal breaker though as im loving this rom. Super stoked to have ICS on my g2x finally. Thanks to the devs who worked so hard to get this going.
